There is many over the counter medications for this: Maalox, Tums, Tagamet, Prilosec. However, it may be wise to see a healthcare provider. There is a bacteria that can live in the stomach and cause these symptoms. It can also cause an ulcer. It is called H. Pylori and can be detected by a simple blood test. If the test is positive a course of two antibiotics for a couple of weeks can kill it and can resolve the heartburn. It could be that you have a hiatal hernia or gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD) and this can be found with a test called an upper GI. See the healthcare provider....much can be explored or done if this is a repeated problem. PS...drinking milk is an oldtime remedy that is not recommended anymore.

I study reflexology and that pain you are saying you have is related to the instep of your foot. By massaging that everyday it will help aleviate your heartburn. Also increase your water intake. An 8 oz. glass of water every hour is wholly recommended. People do not understad the power of the feet. Look up reflexology on the net and you will see what I am talking about. Find a diagram of the feet and study it. Also, try reading the book: you're not sick, you're thirsty. It covers every ill known to man.

You need to go to the doctor. That burning sensation (acid reflux) can cause some very serious damage up to and including cancer. You need to take medicine for that.
