i have a sist on the back of my brain causeing me to have a shunt(a tube that goes from my brain to my stomic)i had my first at 4 months old and then a replacement at 16.after meany follow up appointments i had asked my doc.if it was ok to get one.his answer was of course no.i think because he just didn't like them)i am now 33 and i haven't used the shunt in many years.it was replaced at 16 as a precaution so there has been no reason for any doctor appointment.i was wondering sence so much time has past if it would be safe it get one.

go ask another doctor hon. I am a nurse and I am not sure...I am tattood and I made sure my artist was spotlessly clean and used new needles - if thats the case then all should be OK. Steer clear of anyone who won't open the needles in front of you, or who gets funny when you ask them about hygiene

I'm sure the doctor said no because he did not want you to get any infections. I would say that as long as you go to a qualifed tattoo artist and that they properly sanitize their equipment and wear gloves that you will be OK.

Go with whattever the doctor says, maybe it could be
dangerous? I wouldn't try too. It may not be in use all the time, but if you went over it, something else could happen!
Don't do something you will regret!

I don't understand how your shunt could interfere with your tattoo, but get one if you feel like it! Personally I don't want any color on my body, but it's my body and you're free to do what you want with yours!
