I have not had any sleep for about 4 days, maybe and hour every night (broken sleep). I just lay in bed and the next thing I know 7 hours have gone by. Here are the pills I have tried over the past year or so:

Tynelol PM, all the other PM's : Does nothing
Simply Sleep: Nothing
Tradzone: My Doc gave me this, worked for a week last year but it gives me a rapid heartbeat and now it doesn't even help me sleep.
Sleep MD: Gimmic, does nothing
Melatonin: Nothing

My doctor is a moron he recommended Benadryl next, am I 5 years old. I don't think he understands how serious this is, I am beginning to blow up at people at work and am very irritable. I can't drink a warm glass of milk because I am lactose intolerant. I don't even drink coffee anymore or soda.

Any suggestions, please I am open to try anything at this point.

I am not 15, I was being sarcastic "What am I 5?" I am 23 and I also have a boring *** job I am accountant, yes, that alone should put me to sleep, but it doesn't.

Try spending an hour or so reading Yahoo! Answers and read how many moronic questions are asked in comparison to those that are actually curious about something.
Chances are, counting the stupid questions will put you to sleep faster than counting sheep!

P.S. Yours counts as actually curious.

Ok, the active ingredient in Tylenol PM is the same thing in Benedryl, so if Tylenol PM doesn't work for you, it's likely Benedryl won't either. You are only 15, I think other options should be explored before you become dependent upon prescription sleep aids. It sounds like you need to really to have a good talk with your mom and maybe find a new doctor. Look at your diet a little more closely and make sure you aren't taking in caffeine, and you need some type of exercise everyday. You need to tire your body out. Also, look at any other medication you may take. I know side affects for many prescription meds are insomnia and restlessness, such as meds for asthma and ADD/ADHD. You really need a thorough medical exam so your doctor may find the cause. Best of luck!

Sounds like you suffer from some very bad insomnia. Are you stressed out? I would suggest getting a second opinion from another doctor. See if you can get some other types of sleep medicines, even if they are prescription drugs. If you are stressed out, ask the doctor about taking Buspar. This is an anti anxiety medicine. I have been taking it now for months and it has helped me sleep better, even though it is not a drug that will help you sleep. It calms you down so you can sleep more effectively. Add that to a sleep medicine and you should be all right.

Ambien works great....there is new one...ambiem cr that works on a time release basis making sure that you rest the entire night. I try to take a warm bath or shower every night before bed. I've been told that this causes a release of endorphins that aid sleep. try the benadryl....crazy as it may sound it can work. Stay away from the computer or tv at least one hour from the time you plan to be asleep. try reading a book. This has always helped me ....good luck and sleep tight!

Believe it or not, Benadryl is recommended most often for people who already take a lot of prescribed drugs--doctors don't want them to take any more prescriptions, so they recommend Benadryl. I also have trouble sleeping and Benadryl works almost every time. Give it a shot--it's cheaper than a prescription.

Try working out to relieve stress. Then try yoga at night, maybe an hour before you go to bed, and do some light stretching to help calm you.

When you go to bed, take deep breaths (slow breathing). If you can't sleep, just lay in the dark for 10-20 minutes ..not trying to go to sleep and just let your mind races...then try going to sleep again (I read this somewhere).

I hope this helps.

Before You Sleep:
Take one day and be your self. No matter how ticked at them you are. Try to be like you where before this problem or even issue began. Try to make your day as uneventful as poss able. And try not taking any of thous drugs. You may be one of thous people who's body act completely different to thous types of drugs.

While Sleeping:
Close your eyes. Relax. Concentrate on your breathing. Just listen to it. Don't let your mind wonder off. When it does try to catch yourself and try your hardest to listen to your breathing, no matter how boring it is. It works for me.

Good Luck!

Ask God for forgiveness of your sins. Forgive other people who have sinned against you and pray for a good nights sleep.

Also, pray for peace and peace upon your home.

If every physical thing has failed, try God. This may be a spiritual problem.
