Nope. Don't fall back. All that separates people who get what they want out of life from people who fail miserably is choosing to go FORWARD. If you can quit smoking you can do ANYTHING. You could literally be a multi-millionaire, if that's your desire, in less than two years with JUST the determination that it takes to quit smoking. Just make that decision, kid, and make ALL of your dreams come true with just the plain guts and determination that you are expending on this one project to better your life. It doesn't get harder than this, so, if you DO this, and it really isn't that hard, you can do anything. Set your goals around around that. You aren't JUST quitting smoking . . .you're breaking down a huge barrier between you and a MUCH better life. Here's a little helper, though, that really works. Take a handful of drinking straws, squirt diet whipped creme up inside them and freeze. Sucking on them AND having something to diddle with in your hands like a cigarette is the crutch that works. Good luck, and happy holidays to you.

Much of the problem with smokers is that they hang out with or have other friends that are smokers. Smoking is an addiction, yes, but it is also encouraged by those around you.

While it's not going to kill you to take a drag from your bf 's cigarettes, it WILL make it much harder to quit, especially if you're going cold turkey. If you find it's too much for you, go to a doctor and get some nicotine patches.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SMOKE WITH NICOTINE PATCHES ON YOUR ARM.

Oh, and you might want to find a significant other who doesn't smoke...or have yours quit smoking. It's a disgusting habit that doesn't do anything for you but kill you.

Good luck!

Hang in there. I have been smoke free now for nearly 3 years. I didn't go cold turkey I just weened myself off gradually. I also used nicotine patches which helped me heaps. I found the hardest thing was not missing the smoking it was the habit side that was hard. You know..... you have a ciggy when you are on the phone, and at certain times of the day and especially when you are socialising.. most of the time whether you feel like one or not. When I felt like a cigarette I just tried to ignore it and within 5 mins the craving was gone. You just have to be strong and determined to kick the habit. Believe me if I can do it, anyone can. Just think of how much better you will feel and smell without it. You can do it.

DO NOT DO IT!!!!! Tough it out, make him stay away from you while he smokes until you get over this hump!! I am 49 yrs old and had smoked since I was 15, but stopped cold turkey over a year and a half ago. Oh, my Lord, it has been hard, so many times I came close to rationalizing as you are trying to do is that I could just slow down until I quit, but you and I both know if you break that promise you made with yourself it will be so much easier tomorrow to do it again.....don't, hang in there, get some hard candy, sugarfree gum, regular gum, it doesn't matter, it is all better than cigarettes!! Eat grapes, pop them into your mouth and savor the juiciness, fight it, fight it, I promise it DOES get easier, but I CANNOT tell you it was or even IS easy, especially at preprogrammed times, after meals, on the telephone, with my morning coffee, just get through them. Pray to God, ask him to break that pull that you feel!!! Good luck, honey, good luck. You can do it!!!

Take a deep breath, drink some water, breath like you are smoking and donttake even one drag. Go for a walk outside and tell your self you can do it. When you take a drag, you have to quit all over again. Remember how hard it is that first day? Well, you lived thru it and will live thru the next. DON"T SMOKE at all. you'll just end up giving up. Smoking kills, it takes years but it does and when it does you ae very sick for a long time

I am glad you decided to quit...I quit on Halloween of now last year...I had been trying to quit for over 5 years and could never completely do it..But this time it was a piece of cake compaired to the other times...I got on Wellbutrin for the mental state of addiction and the Patch for the physical addiction...It really did work and now I can say this is the first year in over 11 years that I am not smoking...

PS..Don't even dare to smoke, take it hour by hour or even minute by minute saying just for this minute I won't smoke,or just for today I won't smoke, sometimes I still have to do this...If your boyfriend smokes around you then he is not caring about your own health, you have to make sure that he does not smoke around you...I had to hold my nose every time smoke was around me, I might have looked like an idiot, but it was one more year I will live and be able to see my grandchildren oneday....

I wish you the best of luck..

I have been smoking for almost 30 years, i have to stop. The patch
is great. Plus it will not hurt you. When you feel like a cigarette
do something with your hands, go for a walk, chew gum, eat a carrot, use a straw to hold in your hand. Don't drag from your boyfriend's cig, cause after you do that you will want one, and then another. For your sake and your heart-do it cold turkey. You will thank yourself as you get older.

I smoked for 20 ytear and quitted may 2006. I used patches.

Quitting was easier as I thought much much easier.
I kept in mind that I really want to quit. I smoked after 3 weeks one cigarette , and then told myself IF i continue with this I will never quit. after 6 weeks again one cigarette, same ritual. And now I have the feeling that i will never smoke again.

It is hard but that is sometimes , it will go away
and these periods will get longer and longer

good luck

Hi,

I quit this time last year having had a 30 a day habit. I'd tried and failed with allsorts until I a friend recommended this program - see below.

It also came with a 100% money back guarantee and has a 90% success rate - can't say fairer than that!

All the best.
