I'm thinking about buying the Winsor Pilates 20-minute dvd workout. They claim that doing it 3 times a week will result in weight-loss and toning. I'm quite sceptical about the weight-loss bit though. Has anyone done this workout and lost weight without doing the diet they provide? What were the results?

I am an ectomorph, if you don't know what that is look it up, but basically the short definition is it's the "skinny person, the hard gainer, can't gain weight in fat, and gains muscle very slowly" ... now I heard that a good workout for us is a hard but short workout like heavy weights, but it shouldn't last much longer then an hour, of course depending what you do... and it also said rest periods were important.... my question is "Is resting every other day enough?" ... I was going to do bench press, upright rows, and curls one day.. and the next day squats, toe raises (with weights), and leg curls and extensions.; upper body one day, lower body the next, and continue .. and take one day a week for just resting. Is that good?

Does having a girlfriend contribute to weight gain in a subconscious way?

I've gained 100 pounds in 5 years, about the same duration of time I've been dating my fiancee. Prior to that time I worked out a lot and had a toned body. Now I'm at an embarassing 270. I've never incorporated a lifestyle of healthy living. I have always vowed to change, but nothing ever happens.

i have been taking them for about two weeks, and lost about fifteen pounds. i am also in a gym, so its not some kind of miracle diet b/s lol. they boost your metabolism and give you energy, says the box. it says to take one daily, with a meal. so i supposed you should only take one daily, with a meal. but does anyone know if it is dangerous to your health to take more than one a day?

Though I was given medication for this, she said that I should control my diet better and not eat so much food with high cholesterol. I'm told that if I'm not careful I could end up with a stroke if I don't follow this advice. So can anyone tell me how I stand with the following food (that usually eat regularly);

BACON, EGGS, BAKED BEANS, CURRY, PORK CHOPS, FRENCH FRIES, FRIED CHICKEN, BREAD, STIR FRY.

She warned me about cheese and pies but that was all.

I’m 5’5 133 lbs with a large frame and 22% body fat, not fat by any standard. It seems most women who have large frames are overweight and overfat. Most slim Hollywood celebs have small frames and the ones who have large frames tend to be enormous like Rosie O’Donnell. Is it just my imagination
