what is diuretic? and who should take it?

my frnds problem with alcohol, he stopped now for 2 moths he had habit of drinking for past 6/7 years.

somebody suggested me to advice diuretic ? what r these?

and please suggest something that he can do to reduce fleshy face to a normal look?

if he stops drinking in future will he look normal?

Diuretic is a drug which is used for urination, mostly given to patients who have high blood pressure, so salt is passed in urine, in patients with poor blood circulation fluids are accumulated in body, resulting breathing problems, they too are given diuretics. As with salt, Potassium is also passed in urine some people feel pain in bones and muscles, they must take Potassium.
