when do we stop being in our prime in terms of physical ability?
can you (if your body is in top shape) do the same things (sporting performance) in you early - mid. 30's that you could do in your 20's?
is 32 (age) classed as young? and are you still in your prime?

most elite athletes do not peak until the late 30's to early 40's.

32 is still very young. It has been said that the 30's are prime.

You might be a little slower in 30's .. than in 20's ... however, if you have kept yourself in tip-top-shape .. then there may be little .. to none .. change.

The body is different with every person .. and some person's body will be better at different ages.

In this day & age .. a person can do just about whatever they apply themselves to do. Just keep perserverance.

32 is still prime - it is the very beginning of middle age. In general, males tend to begin the slowww downhill descent at about 28. It doesn't really get rolling to their 40s and then continues to accelerate until death....

Your physical abilities really depend on what you are trying to do. Football players tend to burn out soon due to injuries. Baseball however, can last into their 40s.

I am post prime (49) but still run 25-30 miles/week and swim regularly.

Keep in shape; control your weight (BMI < 25); and eat right!

Take care and happy Thanksgiving

I'm 32 and feel old. Things hurt that didn't before and I've gained weight. Not tons but after having my son, I'm not as skinny as I used to be. It sucks. I think if you continue to exercise and eat well you can be in great shape but it all depends on how good of shape you were in in your 20's. If you were good then, then you may be good now but not as much b/c age does have a part in our physical fitness.

I would think so....at 45 I could still run a 6 min mile.
At 65 I could still work out in the sun with a pick and shovel
for 10 hours or so. at 75 I can still walk 2 miles in about 20
min.

If you stay in shape I don't see why you couldn't be. Right now I'm in the best shape of my life.

The only difference I could see from an in shape 20 year old and an in shape 34 year old might be healing factor.

If you look at sports stars' stats by age, you can see they usually peak in their mid 20's, but professional athletes can still perform at a world-class level well into their 30's.

Not everything at 100% but most everthing. swimmers, gymnasts, cyclists etc. tend to be young at their peak but weight lifters/body builders etc tend to be in their 30's.

Not only keeping in shape and eating well, but genetics has a part to play, some of us just age faster.

yes. however, at 20 if you get out of shape, you can still get back in shape. taking a month off is nothing.

while at 34.... if you take a break and get out of shape, it is that much harder to get it back.
