I think so, assuming the yams aren't contaminated with marshmallows and sugar. (I just put cinnamon on them.) However, you're missing some whole grains and a strong protein source, like beans or soy.

Just stay away from white bread and pasta and try not to eat too much red meat. I also always say that there needs to be no limit on fruits and vegetables. Also, there's one food that's been making a comeback in recent years, and that's quinoa. It's a type of grain with plenty of carbs and also has the most complete protein of any other plant source. It extremely simple to prepare and is becoming huge among vegetarians, athletes, and dieters.
