I have a terrible toothache that I have been taking XTRA strength Tylenol for, and the pain keeps coming back. I know that I need to go to a dentist and get it looked at but I do not have the $$ to do that with. I am 24yrs old, and the pain is unbelieveable. The tooth already is crowned with a silver top, but I was wanting to know if I went to an MD (medical doctor) if they could pull it.. I do not care about saving this tooth becasue it is in the back of my mouth where if they did pull it; it would not be a major problem to my already low self esteem. Plz help!

ok please take the time to read and understand my situation, please!

ok i needed a root canal done but i just spent $1000 on one so I was waiting until the end of summer to get it.
Well the tooth had a lot of decay and was painful so my dentist did an "open and med" where he cleaned the decay, cut off the nerves of my tooth, and filled the cavity with temporary filling.
I want this to last 3 months, but today I accidentally used that tooth to bite on something and a piece of the tooth cracked off. Its a molar, so the part that cracked was a tiny piece on the side of it... my teeth are strong so i guess its weak now because of the filing that he did... but the whole tooth is still there and looks decent.
But is this a problem, should I go to my dentist bc a small part cracked off? It doesn't hurt and I definately won't use it to eat anymore.
I just don't want to end up having to get the the tooth extracted!

My wisdom tooth has barley came in and i think it might be an abscess because its coming in crooked and maybe under my other tooth. There are times when it hurts but not major pain it, kinda comes and goes.It seems as if is going into my jaw line but im not sure. Recently at night i have trouble sleeping because i stop breathing,so its gotten 2 the point where i loose lots of sleep just to stay up and concentrate on my breathing.I have no insurance or dental plans so how much would it cost 2 go to the dentist and get work if and when i have to go? Is this an abscess or something minor???HELP PLZ

I feel my wisdom teeth are coming in now and they are starting to hurt. It feels like my mouth is trying to over crowd itself. It feels like my mouth is impacting the teeth I already have and it hurts. Both sides inside my mouth where the wisdom teeth are growing are hurting me. I have an appointment with the orthdontist next month to see weather I should have my wisdom teeth taken out? I was wondering if there is anyway to relieve the pain until the appointment?Any suggestions?

I just had two tiny cavities filled on my top and bottom left molars, so the teeth are opposite one another. I have the work done between 11AM and 12 this morning and it's 7:20 now. I still can't chew with the left side of my jaw because it's far too painful. Is this normal, because I've never had two cavities filled that were opposite to one another. How long should this last?

I was thinking of majoring in pre-dentistry(sort of like pre-med) but I recently found out, its not technically a major. Its more of a support basis for students in college interested in becoming a dentist. They offer course to help and such. Now thast pre-dentistry is out what do you think I should major in? I know dental schools favor science majors also like biochemistry or biology and such, butI want a major that will help me even if for some reason my career idea changes later in life you know?

Please help me

What would you do??? I went to the dentist and I was having pain from temp. being too high. The assistant removed my temp and half of my tooth along with it. Now I have to go and have a crown lengthening performed. When I original ly went to the dentist my tooth was cracked in half. The tooth is in the back of my mouth at the top, next to last tooth. I was supposed to be going in to get my impression from my crown, none of this was mentioned at my last visit!! I left with a referral to a periodontist for crown lengthening. I have to pay for this out of my pocket I do not have dental insurance. Has anyone else had this happen. It seems like I was better off before I went to the dentist. Would it be better for me to get a implant. When they showed me the tooth today I was livid. 85% of the tooth is now gone there is only a sliver of the tooth left. When they put the temp. crown on last time I had WAY more tooth left than that. I am open for any and all suggestions.

I just got my braces off and now I have to wear this stupid Positioner. Its not at all comfortable and I'm not wearing it as frequent as my orho would like me to. I'm not sure what will happen because I don't want my teeth start shifting. I paid far to much to get my teeth staight and will hate if I caused them to shift.

I was brushing my teeth tonight (4/24) and noticed a tiny dark gray mark above one of my upper teeth along the gumline. I tried to floss it off and nothing happened. I tried using antiseptic mouthwash and it still remained. Should I be worried about this?

I had a root canal done in April of 2004, the dentist informed me that he overfilled the root but the material would be absorbed by my body. Then in May he put on the permanent crown even though I complained of constant pain from the root canal. I was told it would take time, be patient. I was in pain constantly and had several xrays and was told to wait. Finally in November I called his office and demanded the tooth be pulled. I was finally referred to an endondontist who did an apicoectomy and told me that I had an abcess that had eaten quite a bit of bone and that was why so much pain. I January I was still in pain and could not get either dentist to do anything , finally in May the endodontist did a retreat and found an unfilled canal. It is April 2007 and I am still in pain and getting pus out of the gum above that tooth. My new dentist says there is nothing wrong and that I need to live with the pain. I want the tooth pulled but can't get it done without a referral. Help

I really want to get my last baby tooth out, but I'm afraid of doing it. If I go to the dentist to do it, it'll freak the you-know-what out of me. What's the best way to numb it at home?
