Does anyone have any suggestions for treating the pain of migratory glossitis or how to reduce the frequency of the symptoms?

I'm a 12 year old boy with a loose tooth. If I take it out I will look like a retard, but, I am afraid that if I don't take it out my new tooth will grow under my loose tooth and then I will look like more of a retard. What should I do to NOT look like a retard? And if I should take it out,how should I take it out.

P.S. No retarded comments!!!

I am getting them off tomorrow! (Yay)

Will it hurt?
If so, How long will it hurt afterwards?
Anything unexpected they do during the appointment?
What are the clear retainers like?
Is the retainer really tight (like braces)?
Are the retainers annoying?
What does it feel like after they are off?
Will I be able to chew gum ever again?
Should I get whitening done right away?
Any other advice / stories / anything?

Thanks!

My sis had a C-section, and while we were in the hospital they told her that it was healing nicely. It's been three weeks and we are home. She accidentaly pulled off a piece of tape. She complains of Numbness minuete and pain the next. the area leaks a little clear liquid sometimes. is she okay? is it all part of the healing process? I would expect a little nerve damage after such an operation so the numbness makes sense. Some one please ease my worries :)

The after care stuff I've read says to avoid alcoholic beverages and I only had one tooth extracted.

Is this something I should really stay away from? Only planned on having a few beers tonight in a social setting.

I had neck surgery on 4/10. During anesthesia I had my two front teeth broken off my upper partial. The anesthesiologist and hospital knew I had a partial but evidentially did not protect it whatsoever. I was told I bit too hard on something in my mouth and the teeth broke off. Before surgery I signed a "Consent for anethesia" which basically informed me of the complicatiions that could take place which included "teeth and dental work"
My real question is: Since they knew that these injuries could take place and I informed them I had a partial, should they have taken more care to see that this particular damage would not happen?
Since my release, I have been informed by one person representing the hospital that they were not responsible and would not help pay for the damage.
My feeling is that once I signed the liability release, they were responsible for both me and them. I feel they were neglegent. Has anybody had a similar experience?

As a child, my former dentist would cut the insides of my cheeks before sticking thru a shot to numb my mouth... on both sides even tho the cavity was only on one. Now those areas have "flapped" or scarred as a mass of tissue. Does anyone know any reason WHY a dentist would do this??

Needless to say, I'm no longer with them.

I had my wisdom tooth removed on April 3rd. I ended up getting a Dry Socket. Although it was very dull and persistant pain, it wasn't as painful as I have been told. During that time I noticed a small bulge of my cheek filling in where the tooth was pulled. It did get smaller but then came back larger and was like a little ball inside my cheek. So to ask my questiuon again where does the Parotid Saliva Gland drain into your mouth from? Also could the gland be damaged from pulling a wisdom tooth? Any answers or direction where I can find some answers would be great.

I use a soniccare toothbrush twice day, and also floss and rinse with mouthwash regularly, but my gums are slowly receding. Is there anything that can be done?

I have periodontal disease. I've never gone to a dentist because my family has never had dental insurance, along with the usual feelings of fear and embarrassment.

My gums have receded and I've tried to keep the disease from getting worse by brushing all the time and using Listerine. I called a periodontist's office, but he's booked until June. I'm scared to wait that long.

The lady told me to go to a dentist, but I know that my problem is more so for a periodontist and not a regular dentist. I know I will probably have to have root planning and scaling.

Will going to a dentist be even worth it? I'm scared to wait any longer, but I need to go to a periodontist, but all of them in my area seem to be booked up for at least a few months.

I know it's not at the beginning. I guess it's moderate to severe. My teeth don't seem loose or anything like that, but I'm still scared out of my mind, especially since I can't seem to get to a periodontist soon.

I had two of my wisdom teeth extracted nearly a year ago. One was poking out and was a breeze compared to the other which was hidden deep. The hidden one obviously hurt much more than the other during recovery but all went well, so I was told. A week or so after the extraction I had my stiches taken out...I felt that it might have been too soon for them to be taken out, at least on the side of the hidden tooth...but couldn't stand the feeling of them anymore so just went ahead without saying anything. Time passed and the one tooth (the easy one) healed over and all is well, but the hidden one never quite healed over. Months passed, and now nearly a year, and there is still a hole from where the tooth was removed. No pain at all, just a hole that collects food and who knows what. I called the surgeon's office once and they said it takes time, but how long? I would like to go back to their office and make them look, but can't as I live in FL now, far from VT. What do I do?
