Did you know a healthy person has an average of 7-10 lbs of fecal matter in them? You should have a bm everyday. So, if you didn't go for a week, then your bowels are really backed up and can lead to weight gain, allergies, and other issues. It just isn't healthy. Eat lots of roughage(greens like spinach, mustard greens, etc) and increase you fiber content. Also, drink lots of fluids esp. water. Eating warm oatmeal really helps too. Try going for a run a little after eating the fiber and water. That always makes me want to go. By the way, your stool will probably be really dark and stinky. A healthy bm should be round, intact, not too dark, and not too stinky. Sorry if this offends some, but my family is big into having healthy colons.

well this sounds pretty long. you should see the dr asap if nothing happens in the immediate future. do u eat enough fiber? the average american doesnt. but it maybe more than a diet issue you could have an impaction of fecal matter by now. usually its accompanied by stomach pains and things of that nature. if its impacted it will have to be actually removed by a medical professional. see the dr im almost sure theres some kind of GI problem even if you dont move your bowels daily a week is pretty long

Hello, I consider one day is not good for there to be no bowel movement. An easy answer is large doses of vitamin C, but you can also go to www.ultralifeinc.com and order LBF #1, which is all herbs.
Or, you can do enemas. These are simple to do and cheap. You would need a bag and tube, which you could also get from Ultra Life.
If you have any further questions you can Email me at junehutchinsmta@relaypoint.net. June

You must be feeling pretty bad by now. You may need an enema to get relief. You are at the problem stage now.
I hope you haven't been eating a lot. The more in there the worse it will be. You probably should take something to help it along; what ever you are accustomed to. Eating grapes helps some people.
If you don't get some results soon, call you doctor's office and see if they can suggest something for you.

7 days is too long to go without moving your bowels. Take a laxative ASAP.

I'd say the problem started about four or five days ago, depending on how frequently you normally move them and how much you've been eating

There's been a problem. Don't even bother to try taking laxatives, just call your doctor. Going that long without a BM could toxify your body.
