You can get braces, I know many people who have gotten braces and it has helped tremendously. Yes, it is okay to have braces for four or more years. I also know people who have had their braces on for about 5 or 6 years. It just depends on your teeth.
You can go to your Dentist or Orthodontist, they are there to help and can really tell you whats best for your teeth. A palet expander before your braces may also do the trick!
Good Luck!

the only way to correct an under bite is to get braces, the younger the better, because young bones will readjust easier. If the orthodontist tells you that you have to have braces for four years then that's what your stuck with. I have a friend that is dealing with five years of orthodontic work.

Braces are really the only thing you can do for an over or underbite if its pretty bad...If it is minor you may be able to try invisabraces or retainers to reset your teeth but a dentist would help you with making the decision that is right for you. Good luck

Probably you need to have surgery to shorten the lower jaw or lengthen the upper. An orthodontist would the person to consult on this.
As long as you are very good about oral hygiene how ever long your orthodontist recommends should be fine.

HELLO,
WHAT REALLY NEEDS TO HAPPEN IS THAT YOU MUST
HAVE A CONSULT WITH AN ORTHODONTIST WHO MAY TELL YOU THAT BRACES WILL WORK OR SURGERY MAY ALSO BE NEEDED.
