I have about 4 root canals (three of them are my upper front teeth) in my mouth and I need 4 more to be done. I'm going to put my braces and my orthodont told me that first I have to wear braces and then I have to do my aesthetics (root canals, change old fillings and put crowns on all root canal teeth). My question is...will root canal teeth bear the presure of braces (because there's no nerve in them - so they are quite weak). I'm 25 and right now I'm wearing functional appliances to extand my archs and get rid of TMJ problem. But all my teeth are really bad (almost all of them have fillings). And another guestion... is it worth doing this orthodontic thing or should I have just got veneers? Anyway it's already too late...

... in the mirror at the damage my mother threw the food out with my tooth init! I tried to salvage it but it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack! About half or slightly less of the tooth cracked off. What should I do? Is it repareable and how will it look?? Its the second tooth back from the kanine. Will it be white filling or black and will it be as strong as before as I have always had strong teeth.
Thanks fo any help!

I was thinking about getting my teeth whitened recently. They aren't in a bad way but 30 years of tea, coffee and red wine have left them a little off colour. Has anyone else out there had there teeth whitened? How much did it cost and was it worth it? Have you tried one of the home kits? I tried one years ago but you had to use it at least twice a day for a month and I just didn't have the patience. Finally, do you know if the procedure is still possible with a crown?

Any help appreciated.

I had terrible tooth pain on Saturday, and two days before I had some minor kind of "throbbing" pain, but very minor. Well, Saturday it was no longer minor and it hurt so bad I couldn't close my teeth together. I went in to the dentist office Saturday on an emergency call. He xrayed and said I need a root canal. So I said ok and he started it. He drilled the hole in the tooth (top, front/center tooth) and puss etc started draining out. Apparently it was infected a bit cause the nerve was dying. Well he let it drain and filed it out for almost an hour. Then he said he couldn't put a filling in yet because it was infected and draining, so he flooded it with bleach (Sodium Hypochloride) to kill bacteria, rinsed it and packed it with cotton and sent me home with antibiotics and vicodin. I'm not taking the vicodin the pain isn't that bad. Tomorrow I go in to be checked and have the cotton removed, and a temp filling put in. A week later he'll check it and put in the permanent filling.

I have not been to the dentist in over 15 years. I am going in to my new dentist tomorrow for what she called a "deep cleaning". What exactly will be done to me? Will it be painful? Will I be ok to drive myself home tomorrow?

Just curious, I'm 34 and they ache about once a year for a couple days. And no, I haven't seen a dentist in about five years due to a bad experience (he did repairs on a tooth, it came off, I went back and he never wrote a note in my chart so he couldn't believe he did the work).

I've been taking two different meds lately to treat a fever. Tylenol Extra Strength Adult Liquid contains 500 MG of acetaminophen per tablespoon, and for my age and body weight I require two tablespoons. I've been taking it since 6 PM Yesterday (March 31st) every 4-5 hours.
My mouth has also been scratchy (I've been attempting to save it with a humidifier), so I treated it with equaline sore throat spray with 1.4% Phenol; I use two sprays every two hours since 6:02 PM Pacific (It's now 9:12 Pm Pacific)
Does either of these, alone or combined, cause Dry Mouth? It's been bugging me for a while, and my searches on google worry me for the well-being of my mouth/teeth.
Sorry for the inconveniently long detail "Paragraph", I attempt to be detailed as possible to correctly pinpoint the problem.

I = got my top braces on yesterday and right now my teeth are very sensitive. I am unable to chew anything, even soft foods. Im kinda scared to brush hard on my top teeth because it hurts when I press down. Am I also worried about moving the braces or loosening a wire if I brush too hard? Should I just brush as I normally would or should I wait a few more days until my teeth aren't as sensitive?

I have an infected tooth (molar) that requires a root canal. i have put this off due to lack of insurance. In the last two weeks i have noticed a slight loss of hearing on the same side as my tooth.
Could this be related?

When you get a tooth pulled out without anasthesic jelly or injections? I never got a full toth pulled out just once when I had a small figment of baby tooth next to a permanent tooth. They gave me anasthesic jelly instead of an injection and didn't give it time to work!

I am a 15 year old girl
I brush my teeth 2 times every single day, and I floss as well.

I have had 5 cavities, so I have 5 fillings in my teeth.
They are all silver fillings, and they are really visible when I am smiling and laughing. people always comment my teeth and say things like: "oh, you have a lot of cavities" and so on.
I HATE my fillings :( :( :(

Today, I was eating some ice cream, and one of my teeth started to hurt a lot. I looked at it in the mirror, and noticed that there was a black hole in the tooth. I looked at my other teeth also, just to check them, and I noticed that 6 of my teeth looked like the one, which hurts. Do you think they need to get them filled? I really dont want more silver fillings :( :( :( :(

At the same time, my teeth are really crocket!! I HATE my teeth: they are crocet, and they got a lot of silver fillings, and they hurt! Please help me. What can I do?
