Hmmm. Worst experience.
Perhaps it was the orthodontist who put me in four different appliances/retainers from 1st to 6th grade, before we discovered that he was fitting me with them for no reason other than the money. I needed none of it. We switched orthos.
I think the worst though was when I was 17, I went to the orthodontist to have the enamel on some of my teeth buzzed down a bit to improve my bite, and he exposed a nerve, I jerked, and he cut my lip with his buzz saw. The lip didn't hurt so bad as the tooth.

I've never had a bad experience. I've been going to the same dentist for the past 20 years and he has been great. But if I had to pick something:
Sometimes the bitewing x-rays hurt my mouth b/c I have a very small mouth and they never seem to fit. Oh and once a student took an x-ray and forgot to give me the lead jacket. Besides that everything has been just peachy!!

Being lied to by a dentist who was doing a root canal, then stopping and telling me he had an emergency and to come back in a week or two. When I came back he said the tooth was cracked, and said I must have bit down on something hard during that time after he did it.Actually he cracked the tooth when he did the canal by drilling with too large a drill and the tooth couldnt take the force and cracked. He lied to me to cover up his fault.
Rotten son of a ***** should be hung.

The dentist wasn't wearing a mask and coughed right in my mouth, I felt like I had to throw up, and did a little bit. The dentist didn't even say sorry.

When I was ten, I went to a dentist who was a friend of the family. He saw a baby tooth that was a little loose, shoved his "explorer" hand instrument underneath the tooth, and yanked it out. No anesthesia, no nothing. It hurt like hell, and I never went to that bastard again.

I was having treatment on a molar, and the novocaine made my throat numb and I couldn't swallow for several hours. I tried to drink water, and started to choke. It was terrible.

My worst dental experience??
Dealing with griping, complaining, rude patients, who think they know more about dentistry than we do, and think that we should bow down to them, kiss their feet, neglect our families so that we can get them in for evening or weekend appointments, and who never even offer a thank you for all that we do for them.
But then again, you probably wanted a patients experience.

i`m going to tell the story of my brother because it`s like i felt his pain.
His toothache was so severe, during the night that he grabbed a pliers and try to pull the tooth. He just broke the whole top of the tooth. The root that he left behind, gave him so much pain, that he fainted.
