For me, the only pain came from the injections they had to do to numb my gums before they took out the teeth. After that, there wasn't much pain, it was just uncomfortable.

To be honest, it's not really as bad as it sounds. I had to have 5 teeth extracted at once (4 wisdom teeth + 1 more). I ended up being worried over nothing. I was given an injection to numb the areas. When the dentist was actually extracting the teeth, I just felt pressure. I did a lot of deep breathing during the entire procedure. And afterwards, I didn't really have too much pain either. Just remember to get your prescription filled immeidately so that the numbness does not ware off by the time you take your first dose. Then, you would have to make sure to take the doses on schedule. You should be fine after the first few hours.

When getting four teeth pulled they knock you out usally my dentist does not do this but others in my areas do. I had to get 2 teeth pulled when I was young and I thought it hurt but only when they gave me a little novacaine shot. It was not that bad afterwords it was just the sound of the root breaking and the small amount of blood. You can still feel pressure when they are pulling the tooth but no pain the numbing shot stops the pain. It is not too bad but I will tell you it hurts a little not too bad though good luck!

I have had teeth extracted in the past and it wasn't a problem. I had to have wisdom teeth that were impacted removed. I went to an oral surgeon and he removed them with out any trouble. I didn't have bruising or swelling after having them removed.
I didn't feel any thing during the process since he numbed it all up. I also really didn't feel any pain after the procedure. He was really good at his job. I did have some bleeding after which is normal. But it wasn't too bad.
When my daughter needed to have teeth extracted for her braces I took her to him and he removed them for her. She had the same experience that I did, hardly an pain at all.
I would suggest ask your friends if they have had teeth extractions and what kind of experience they had, good or bad. If you find a friend who had a good experience ask where they had their work done as you may wish to go to that person also. Some people are just better at removing teeth with out causing you a lot of bruising and giving you pain.
Good luck, I'm sure you will be just fine.

Well it depends on a lot of things. The extraction itself won't hurt a bit because you will be numb. Now they even pre-numb the area where they are going to give you the shot with topical anesthetic similar to Anbesol. You may feel a little poke but it's just for a second. But be prepared for a little discomfort possibly after-wards. Your gums may be sore for a day or two. The dentist may give you a prescription for Tylenol 3 or something similar. Or he/she may just recommend Advil. I would opt for the Tylenol just in case. You don't have to take it if you don't need it but if you do need it it's nice to have it. Two weeks ago I had a tooth removed and a ton of prep work done as part of an extensive dental makeover. I had braces for six weeks prior to extrude the tooth and make it easier to pull. That was sort of slow torture and it was great when he finally yanked it out. Rinsing with salt water or Peroxyl helps a lot. But even if it is uncomfortable and the braces do drive you nuts for awhile it will be worth every minute when you are done. I never had braces and I am really paying the price (literally) now. But again, it's worth it!

I got four teeth pulled too when I got my braces. I had the option of being numbed up or put to sleep. I chose to be put to sleep. Besides the usual salt water rinse and no spitting, there were no problems. I couldn't dance in my school choir for a week, but that was no big deal.

When I got my braces on, I needed four teeth pulled. They gave me the option of knocking me out or giving me happy gas. Happy gas was much cheaper so I went with that. I only felt tiny pokes, and then it was over. So try to get happy gas. (I don't remember the medical term for it but if you tell the oral surgeon you want Happy Gas they'll know what you mean). The only problem is, you will need someone to drive you home because you'll be a little out of it, if you know what I mean. But don't fret, it doesn't hurt nearly as much as they say it will. And good luck!

I had two teeth pulled almost three weeks ago. Like you, I was very nervous. I had never had any teeth pulled before. The dentist numbed my gums with a tiny needle; it felt like a little pinch. Then he waited a few minutes and then he pulled my teeth. I felt nothing when he pulled them out. I had a great dentist, too. Good luck to you.

Its not that bad if you take care of the site afterwards. Listen and follow the after care advise your dentist gives you. The only pain you should feel is the initial injection. If you do feel pain during the procedure, stop your dentist and let them know.

Its not that bad, just alot of pulling and pushing. But the dentist will give you an injection to stop the pain. You shouldnt feel a thing. But yes it is nerve racking. Just remember to breath druing the appointment.
