Cool foods like yogurt and milk are more soothing than hot foods. The tongue heals rapidly, usually in a day or two. The enzymes in saliva have healing properties, so any sores in the mouth heal very quickly. She should be better real soon.

Do NOT have a two year old hold anything in his/her mouth. If you MUST put something in there to stop the bleeding (and if it's still bleeding after 15+ minutes, you probably want to take her a health-care professional/clinic/hospital), hold it there yourself to be sure she doesn't swallow it.

If the bleeding stopped, you'll probably want to monitor her for a few hours to make sure that she doesn't put other things in her mouth, so that the wound has a chance to heal. A tongue wound is going to hurt for quite a while, so be prepared to deal with the complaints.

cool foods are good; stay away from anything sharp like cookies or doritos! If she says it hurts, i'm partial to children's Motrin (better than tylenol, i think).

it's probably not still bleeding at this point, but if it were, stuff (well, gently place!) some gauze or clean paper towel in her mouth and have her hold it there 20 min (or as long as you can in a 2 yo!)

Tongues (and anything in the human head!) will bleed a LOT, but due to the strong blood supply they also heal fast. Don't worry!

Thats a bad spot..cold clean foods. Use a cold compress to stop the bleeding..if it doesn't stop..go to the er. you can loose alot of blood out of the tongue which will make her light headed.
