... in the mirror at the damage my mother threw the food out with my tooth init! I tried to salvage it but it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack! About half or slightly less of the tooth cracked off. What should I do? Is it repareable and how will it look?? Its the second tooth back from the kanine. Will it be white filling or black and will it be as strong as before as I have always had strong teeth.
Thanks fo any help!

It is likely that the dentist will put a "crown" or "cap" on your tooth. It will look just like your other teeth (they will match the color to your teeth). My crowns have always seemed as strong as my other teeth. Another option would be to have another tooth implanted. They would remove your broken tooth; drill through the bone and insert a titanium pin in there. It usually takes about three months for your bone to grow around this pin, then they put the implant on and it looks just like your other teeth and is even stronger.

Talk to the dentist about your options. The implant is nice but is more expensive and takes longer.

Good luck to you.

Depends on the amount that broke off. Typically the pre-molars break in half and that is unsalvageable with a filling. Putting a filling in will only cause it to break again in the future. The real concern is nerve damage. More then likely you will need a crown to repair your tooth but if the nerve was damaged by the tooth breaking you may also need a root canal. The longer you wait the worst it will get so call your dentist and make an appt. In addition don't worry about the lost portion of tooth. It can't be put back. The only time something like that can be done is if a whole tooth is knocked out intact and even then you have a matter of hours to get it fixed.

If there is enough tooth left to save, your dentist will probably put a crown on it. If not, you may need an implant, but an implant should be your last resort. If you have to have an implant, get at least 2 consultations with implant dentists, and choose one who guarantees his/her work - i.e. money back if it fails, and any necessary followup work is included in the price. Implants are too expensive not to get a guarantee if you can. I have one implant and absolutely love it. I was scared to death of having the procedure, but it turned out not to be bad at all - just took a long time before the entire procedure was completed. Good luck.

can't glue back whats broke off...
your tooth needs to be repaired and it sounds like a big piece cracked off, so you might need a crown.
if the piece came out whole you were eating a soft food it means your tooth had a crack in it for a while now... cracks are almost impossible to fin unless part of the tooth falls off, like in your case.
so don't worry, just go to the dentist.
