I just left the dentist. All my teeth are perfectly fine. I have my two upper wisdom teeth. They have caused me no problems and do not have any cavities. My dentist suggest they be removed. Is this really necessary?

I have always wanted to become a radiologist, but lately I have been looking toward the dental field and was wondering what is the chance of becoming an oral and maxillofacial radiologist. This would be the specialty that I would prefer due to it being very related to a medical doctor radiologist. I am thinking about the military to for after graduate school, and was wondering if they have any in this specialty. Thanks for all who answer (and I don't mind long detailed answers at all).

I had my lower right wisdom tooth removed on Saturday, today's Wednesday. I don't feel real pain, some light pain I would say. When I change the position of my head and when I walk - I feel like preasure goes to my tooth, like heartbeating to the tooth. From the inside everything looks normal. My cheek is not swallen any more. Could i still have dry socket? I'm too worried about it...please, help me. I'd like to treat dry socket at the earliest stage until it hurts too much. Thank you!

A friend told me i have really bad breath. I took it hard, naturally. I brush my teeth and swish with mouth wash twice a day, im pretty good with hygene ( or so i thought!) My friend still tells me its really bad though. Im trying not to let it get to me, but if its that horrible, im sure everybody can tell i have bad breath! Chewing gum really hurts my jaw ( i had tmj when i was little) so gum is out of the question and i can only eat so many mints! Im afraid if i brush my teeth anymore, my gums are going to yell and scream at me!

Is there anything i can do, ive heard of people having a medical problem concerning bad breath. what can the dentist do for me? I dont want to be embarrassed anymore, i feel like my only past time now is washing out my dang mouth!
Please help.

Do you use them regularly and what do you recommend for somebody considering that procedure now? Some say get them the day you get your teeth pulled and get them modified til they fit and others say to get them after 3 months after you have your teeth pulled. What do you recommend? What has been your experience or the experience of a loved one who had this done?

She cleaned her teeth and visited dentist as a small girl but was bullied at school about her teeth which were quite big. Since then she's found it harder and harder to cope with cleaning them or visiting dentist. Not frightened of dentists as such but her hands sweat and she begins to panic if she talks about them etc. Her teeth need urgent attention and I don't know how to help her get over this.

Only 1 tooth hurt when I took a bite. I was thinking how in the devil is my teeth loosened already but it is. I haven't eaten this morning yet, I'm kinda scared. But I need to loose about 20lbs anyway, so I'm having a slim fast.

I was told back many years ago, that I needed Corrective Jaw Surgery. Unfortunately, I was only 12 or 13 at the time. I'm 22 now, and have the braces on. The problem I'm running into is finding an insurance company that will cover the surgery or at least some of it. I was just curious if anyone else out there who has had it, could give me some advice on what I should do. By the way, it is both medical and cosmetic, as my top teeth do not show when I smile, just the tips of them. My doctor had mentioned filing it as a "mental health" claim, because I've actually went through Depression and counseling because of it. Any advice would be wonderful.

My daughter needs a brace. She has wonky teeth but not wonky enough to warrant NHS funding for brace. We could be looking at £2000 for treatment and I feel rather annoyed (to put it mildly) especially given that this is seen a cosmetic work and not something that will affect her. I feel that my daughters self esteem is as important reason as any to get the braces on the NHS, and I am a tax payer who has always worker. The extra expense of these braces is going to affect our standard of living so much, but I cannot let her go without. Any suggestions for convincing the NHS? Or do any of you know of loopholes etc? Thank you for your help in advance.
