It is as safe as water and oxygen ! In fact that is exactly what it is, hydrogen peroxide is H2O2 or water H2O with an extra oxygen atom attached. The extra atom releases easily and that is the foaming action you will notice when you gargle with it. Also if the truth be known it is much safer to use than the typical store bought mouth wash that contains alcohol and can actually be harmful if over used.
note to the submitter below pure hydrogen peroxide yes can be dangerous but it is also near impossible to get! The typical 10% solution sold in stores will not cause any damage and in fact has been known to prevent and even cure gum disease!!!!

I won't hurt your teeth, but it's not the best for your tissues. Recent studies have shown that rinsing w/ peroxide (full strength over a period of time) can cause oral cancer. I would steer away from it. Listerine or Crest Pro Health mouth rinse is a much better idea.

won't hurt...but, if you want to use something that will truely help prevent caries and gum disease.....floss your teeth, then brush with good fluoride toothpaste, then rinse with water, then rinse for ONE FULL MINUTE with full strength Listerene. This procedure, done every day, will keep your mouth very healthy. The Listerene will reduce the harmful bacteria, in your mouth, by 60-70%. (but only if you floss and brush first and use the mouth wash full strength for at least one minute)
