The tooth came out last monday and only just healed and stopped bleeding one week later (yesterday) Im going on a 2 hour plane journey to France next Tuesday (in 6 days time).

is that inadvisable?

is the toogh socket likely to start bleeding again?

Thanks, just to let you know, the bleeding didnt last for 9 days. It stopped two hours after the extraction, it was fine for a week (until the following Sunday night) and then started again from sunday night till yesterday Tuesday) morning, Im guessing because the clot became dislodged. It seems to have stopped bleeding again though now.

We usually advise waiting for at least two weeks before flying due to the altitude changes that could cause the clot to dislodge if this is done earlier. You should be safe by next week, but my concern is that you have "just stopped" bleeding. This should have stopped last week, a day or two "at the most," after the extraction was done. For this reason I would suggest that you call your dentist for his "advice on the excessive bleeding and flying," since he is aware of the difficulty involved during this procedure. There may be other complications that I am unaware of and would hate to advise you incorrectly. Just to be on the safe side, give your dentist a call for his ok on flying and let them know about the excessive bleeding you experienced. Good luck and have fun on your trip!

I have had four wisdom teeth extracted and I was married to a dentist and seen a lot of patients with him. You will be fine.

Two weeks is pretty good time to heal. you should be fine. If you still worry call your oral surgeon and maybe he'll recommend what to do...
Have a safe trip.
