I had my lower right wisdom tooth removed on Saturday, today's Wednesday. I don't feel real pain, some light pain I would say. When I change the position of my head and when I walk - I feel like preasure goes to my tooth, like heartbeating to the tooth. From the inside everything looks normal. My cheek is not swallen any more. Could i still have dry socket? I'm too worried about it...please, help me. I'd like to treat dry socket at the earliest stage until it hurts too much. Thank you!

dry socket is an infection in the clot and of the alveolar bone. its 'really' painful! can be cause by continuous touching of the extraction area and by poor oral hygiene.try stepping up your brushing etc, get a mouthwash that contains chloride hexadine and get appointment with your dentist. its really common. having and extraction can leave you with a dull pain most of the time any way! all dentist may do is just wash out the area and place a temporary packing in the socket to stop any further infection. And try the salt water rinsing (hot as you can bare) bathing the extraction area... it works wonders!!!!

Call your dentist. Pressure can be a sign of infection. Some discomfort is not uncommon only four days after surgery, but you really need to call your dentist to be sure you are healing properly.
