I basically need a root canal and iam afraid to go to the dentist because last time i went my dentist used a differnt anasthetic which i was allergic to and my whole body started shaking it was horrible. I have never been afraid of the dentist but now i just avoid it and/or cancel my appointments i know i have to go but ever since that day i just can't. I've had two root canals done in the past and it wasn't painful but iam just afraid that it will happen again what should i do? help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

keep your appointment but talk to the dentist before hand and tell him or her your fears and tell them what happened last time has made you scared to return, tell him you were allergic to the anesthetic and have him note that in your files ,i am sure they can help you and calm your fear if you need dental work please have it done don't keep putting it off could turn out to get worse or cause more problems , good luck and keep smiling

Call your dentist office and either speak with a dental hygenist or schedule a consultation with ur dentist. this way you can talk to ur dentist one on one about your concerns. The dentist will then know that ur nervous and will talk u through ur options for anethisa. You really need to go to the dentist, i understnad ur concerns and worries but at the same time you have to b worried about your health, as long as they use a different anethetic ur not allergic too your should b fine

Make sure you inform your dentist of your condition so that he/she can use another form of anesthetic.
