Only 1 tooth hurt when I took a bite. I was thinking how in the devil is my teeth loosened already but it is. I haven't eaten this morning yet, I'm kinda scared. But I need to loose about 20lbs anyway, so I'm having a slim fast.

it'll be painful for about 4 or 5 days but then it will wear off until you get your braces tightened again.

Usually (I had braces and have worn a retainer for over 20 years) my teeth hurt and I got a really bad headache for about 1 day after each tightening. Honestly, I cannot remember how long from the first time they were put on but it was bad enough that I went that day to get my ears pierced for the first time because I said, "It couldn't bother me more than this."
Feel better! If you can take some advil, that helps and most importantly! Buy a "waterpick" (it shoots water out of a device to "pick" through the spaces in between teeth and dental appliances). It will get food out that you'll never in a million years even see that gets stuck in those things.

I got my braces today and im scared too. I have to loose about 20 pounds too i've lost 15 already. I dont kno how long they wil hurt for but i heard they hurt more the second day...is that true?

I got braces on Nov. 22 2007 so I'm feeling your pain and I would say 4-5 days.
