Keep your beautiful smile and put the money for the veneers into a savings account. Then, if you ever find yourself without dental coverage, or there's something your coverage doesn't fully cover- you can maintain those beauties.

Do you know what goes into getting veneers, besides A LOT of money? It's a permanent decision -- they don't just use Elmer's to glue the veneers on. It's a lot like getting a crown put on over a root canal. They have to take impressions of your bite, drill down ALL of your teeth until they are stumps and you do not have any occlusion at all (they don't touch), then they put a cap over them that looks slightly better than Chicklets. They are made of the same material as the white fillings, but a bit stronger. It's a very lengthy process and just because you have veneers it does not protect you from cavities or infections because the same things can happen to those as your regular teeth.
If you have a beautiful smile already, just buy some whitening products and then your teeth will look better than someone with veneers!!

It is very costly but if you want your smile to be perfect and beautiful pearl white. Ask your dentist about that has no pain and just two visits it is called Lumineers. I have all my teeth except 7 are Porcelain Veneers and my Dentist wants to put Lumineers by Cerinate on those seven but they are so costly. You can even put Lumineers over your Veneers and they are simply beautiful all your teeth are totally perfect. But the cost will really be high, that is what all the stars have done. to their teeth. I'm sure thinking about getting the Lumineers over all but the cost has me thinking it over. They last 20 years.and are simply beautiful and natural looking and no pain what so ever. I want a new car and I am trying to make up my mind which I really need., probably the car.
There is no pain, no removal of tooth structure like you have when you get just veneers, but the veneers are also beautiful and costly also.

If your teeth don't look movie star perfect and that really bothers you I guess go ahead but you should look at what you have to go through. Good ones put on by a good dentist will cost tens of thousands of dollars. Otherwise you can go cheap and end up looking like a big-toothed freak. They will permanantly change your teeth, which if they are in good condition would be a shame. Also they DON"T LAST FOREVER. They can chip and eventually they all fail. If you are older that may not be an issue because you'll croak before you have to worry about it. Everytime one chips or breaks you get a big fat bill that is not covered by insurance. If you have a naturally nice smile I think you are making a mistake. I don't want to say you have BDD, but you might think about striving to improve your mind not tiny details about your beauty.

Please let us know WHY you want them. Do you see a flaw in your smile others don't?

Consider other options - in order to place veneers, a doctor will have to remove some tooth structure. If your teeth are otherwise healthy, why mess with them? It is possible to disturb the teeth and cause trauma - leading to root canal!

Ask a well-qualified dentist for treatment options other than veneers. Perhaps bleaching and a minor adjustment? Or is this perhaps a self-esteem issue and not entirely related to your teeth??
