Hey guys I just got my braces put in about 5 days ago, and now the insides of my mouth and gum feels like its all cut up! The gums and tissues feels lumpy and sore is this normal?? I'm freaking out, I know that you get ulcers but I think the braces are scrapping mouth!

I have an infection under a tooth I had a root canal on about 15 years ago. Dentist is sending me to an endodontist to see about getting a retreat root canal - meaning a root canal on a tooth that already had a root canal done to it.

Anyone have this done? I've done some research on the internet and doesn't look fun :) Your advice and/or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Also sometimes when I eat, laugh or smile my jaw tenses on one side. And it's painful. Does anyone know what this is? Or why it happens.

The yellow things are in the back corners of the mouth. They stick to the walls and make you want to vomit.

Next week I am going to go to the dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed and am going to be given sleeping gas. I think its a shot and then some gas...not sure..anyway...I'm really nervous, anyone ever had this done, and what can you tell me about it? Being put to sleep scares me..so..yeah..what can you tell me about this. Thanks.

I have to have a super deep cleaning done at the dentist which is covered 100% by my insurance provider. However... they suggested that I get a microbial wash which will not be covered and would be about $250.00. The wash deep cleans and is not required, just suggested and all I kept thinking was, "What about Listerine?!" LOL

It sounds like a complete scam to me but has anyone else ever encountered this? Please let me know.

Well I've had my separators in for about a day and I'm in major pain. so my first question is when will this pain go away :(?
My 2nd question is will braces be even worse than I feel now with separators on?

my wisdom teeth surgery ended approx. four hours ago. why are my bottom lip and chin numb? my mouth is no longer numb at all... just those two parts. i wouldn't even think that Novocaine would be injected in those areas.

i've always wanted my teeth to be reallyyy straight, even though everyone says their fine and my dentist/mom won't let me get them becuase she says its a waste of money because i dont need them. so i figured how about a retainer? now obviously im going to talk to my dentist about it but i just wanted a general opinion on whether or not it would be usefull at all...and if its even possible.

hi i want to be a dentist and i was wondering do the dentists actually ENJOY using the tools that they use on the patients. i think i migh do and it looks like my dentist and hygenist do but i was wondering/

The dentist didn't seem overly concerned, he said it should heal over, or work it's way out. Actually, two roots were left in. The alternative I guess is surgery. I didn't have much chance to ask what to watch out for, etc. just the general oral care instructions. Should I be worried? Is this common? Should I be seeking another Doctor now ! Yikes !
