my six year old has an infected tooth and is currently taking amoxicillian for it until the dentists call me back with an appointment because i cant find one that doesnt have a long waiting list. we are talking a month before he gets seen. i need to know some home remedies for a toothache if anyone has any. i have tried the following:
anbesol
orajel
ice
heat
tylenol
motrin
keeping his head elevated
clove oil
and many more things and they arent really working to well. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know im desperate. he is disabled and not taking this well. if you do not have any non rude or serious comments please do not respond

Do you brush your tongue when you brush your teeth? I cant since I gag so bad. What can you do when you cant brush your tongue?

He has been to numerous doctors and they have done different things to help him. he has even had a root canal. He is convinced that botox will help, beacuse it is a problem with the gum, and he thinks it will freeze it, and stop the pain. No doctors will perform botox because it is not garanteed. to help. He has tried over the counter gels, and even has been prescribed vicoden, but nothing seems to help.
Does anyone have any suggestions to manage the pain?

ok, when i went to the orthodontist, he forgot to put my wire back in the last bracket so for the last while it has been loose in my mouth, (not attached to anything at one end) now i bit down on something and the wire BROKE! technically it was the orthodontists fault, so what should i do? am i in trouble? i have the damon system. what is a good story to tell him? has this happened to anyone? my next appointment is march 26. my wires have broken before, but any ideas to hide this from my parents/orthodontist?

I was getting a root canal and the dentist kept pushing my tongue so hard she cut off my air and was choking me. I would reflexively gag and jolt and she was pissed at me for being fidgety. She thought I was just trying to swallow or move my tongue, but I was literally choking for air. Has this happened to anyone else?

is it ok to take a pain killer 30 minutes before surgery and still get novacaine and laughing gas? i just really hate the pain.

I recently started a job as a dental assistant which so far is very taxing but ok. I think the filing system needs to be improved. The first problem is that some of the other assistants seem to be very idle and don't do a very good job at filing and that in itself causes problems when it comes to locating files. My main concern is that when I'm searching for files (and I've only been in the position for 3 days) they can't be found and no one seems to know where else to look for them, all they say is that the files have to be found. The files are not on the shelves, they are not in any of the operatories, they are not in any of the dentists' offces, they are not anywhere in the reception area. I honestly don't know how they operate. I think there needs to be a way to continually track the files which are coming off the shelves until they are returned. I have some ideas but I would like to know what others think about the situation and can suggest. Looking forward to your answers

I am thinking about becomming a dental Hygienist and I am wondering if you have to wear scrubs or can you just wear a lab coat? I ask this because my religion requires me to cover with a gown, and if I have to wear scrubs than i am just going to have to choose another field that does not have such requirements.

I am looking for some kind of product for my teeth to get whiter with, does anyone know of some kind of toothpaste or product that i can use?
I have got braces so i need to be able to use the product easily withought any hassle.
I dont particualrly want to go to my dentist, as it costs hundreds to get my teeth whitend!
My teeth arnt really white, or exactly stained yellow either, there just in-between.
