My son brushes his teeth regularly, twice a day. Last December, his dentist told him that he has periodontal disease in his gum.
This may be due to his oral hygience as he was unprepared for his cleaning kit when he was asked to work till the next day. It was about 10 months ago and is it too late to undergo treatment?? Can periodontal disease spread from a tooth to another? It was so unfortunate for him to have caught the disease, and what causes plague to form on the tooth/gum?? How to prevent it??

Can anyone please kindly advise as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

After purchasing and using a new whitening toothpaste, I've noticed that the lining of my mouth is "peeling" off. Is this only from the ingredients of the toothpaste, or a result of taking an anti-inflammatory drug prescribed by my doctor? I cannot take ibuprofen, but this drug, naprosyn, is in the same family. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm going to see a gum specialist for deep cleaning tomorrow morning. I'm very scared. What if I'm allergic to the drugs used for the deep cleaning? How long is the procedure for each treatment. Will it make the gum or tooth sensitive? Is there any food (like cold and hot drinks) that I should avoid after deep cleaning? Does brushing under morning cold tap water makes the gum/tooth ache after deep cleaning treatment? I brush my teeth 2 to 3 times per day & floss once every day. Is there other any home maintenace after deep cleaning.

PLEASE HELP TO ANSWER ASAP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

What approx time frame did the orthodontist give and when did you actually get them taken off, also how often did you have them tightened during your treatment.

I have 4 teeth which I know need to be extracted. I have periodontitis and I know they will be pulling one or two teeth at a time as they loosen until I have none. So I would rather just have them all extracted and get a full set of dentures even though I'm only 35. How long will I have to run around toothless? I could probably hide for a couple days, but not much longer.

one on each side. I have had them for years and have never given much thought to them. I have pretty good teeth and get my teeth cleaned regularly. The dentist has never said antthing about them. They must be normal. Does anyone know what they are? Do you likewise have them?

I'm 17 years old. I didn't practice good dental hygeine when I was younger but now I do. I was at the dentist a couple months ago and he said that my gums were inflamed, which I guess means that I have gingivitis. My gums don't bleed though, which I assume is good. He said that brushing and flossing should improve my gums. However, I noticed that when I was looking in the mirror that if I put pressure on my teeth, it looks like they move very slightly. The movement is barely noticeable, and I can only see it when I look in the mirror. Is this normal? How serious is it? Seriously, this is all that I think about all day and before I go to sleep at night. I cant enjoy anything anymore and I can't even look foward to college next year because i'm afraid some of my teeth are gonna fall out. My teeth dont feel loose when I eat or anything, it just looks like they move when I push them hard. Is it too late to prevent tooth loss? I'm really scared about this.
