My dentist says that I need braces but its minor. I'll be off the braces probably in a year or so. But he doesn't install braces on his patients. He refers his patients to dentist specialized in braces. So she'll be putting my braces on. I haven't gone to the first appointment with her. SO can someone please tell me what she'll probably do the first time I visit her oh and what are spacers?

On one of my molars I have a black dot/small indentation and I was wondering if that could be a cavity? It doesn't hurt at all, but I do drink a lot of pop. Does it have to hurt for it to be a cavity?

There's a small soft jelly-like tissue appeared on my upper right gumline near the tooth. It is painless. It becomes slightly bigger and then subsided after one month. When it was almost subsided, the left upper gumline had similar occurence. Now the right side has flattened, but the left side still remain, as it started 6 days ago. I suppose it may also take 1 month to recover.
Can anyone tell me what's is this? Is there any problem on my gum? Or is it due to excessive bushing, or wrong method of brushing or toothpaste? I'm very worried.

PLEASE HELP TO ANSWER MY QUESTION ASAP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I heard if you cut a strawberry and lightly rub it on your teeth, the acids in the fruit would make your teeth whiter. Has anyone tried this and does this work?

whiten your teeth WITH OUT having to go to the dentist.
I heard if you brush with baking powder[or soda I don't know which one] helps and also with hydrogen peroxide.

But are there any other home things you can do?

:)

Of course it is the weekend, and no dentist available. I have left sided jaw and tooth pain, it is excrutiating. My gums hurt and deep into the bone structure. This is the second time this has happened in the past few months, last time I was on vacation ( i can never get the timing right !) From my canine tooth back in the upper level and the same area in the lower level. Also my left ear hurts a litte. My teeth have been repaired, in fact one broke off and the nerve is exposed. I am older and the teeth that are filled are brittle. Is there some kind of condition that can cause this. I take care of my teeth and floss every night..and rinse with listerine every morning. There are no new cavities. Just wonder if there is a condition or disease that causes this so I can ask the dentist. I know there will be no repairing as he told me before, some day they will have to be pulled. Thank god i have lortabs, but not working, also just got over a sinus infection.

I just think its weird that almost everyone who goes into my Orthodontist office comes out with braces and headgear. I have it and it sucks. I don't understand why everyone needs it! I mean EVERYONE who goes to my ortho has it. I think its a waste of money!
