I had my braces taken off about a year ago, all my teeth are adult teeth. I've always had really healthy strong teeth and I've never had any cavities... well, a couple of days ago I noticed that my tooth was loose and I'm kind of freaked out... will it tighten back up on it's own????

over the past week the top right side of my jaw has become tender when bruching. very very tender. so tonight i looked at it and it seems dark red. i also found my old softer brush and it still hurt to brush but not quite as bad. i then tried to see if it hurt differantly in a certin direction. when i brushed to the front of my mouth there was little to no pain, but when i brushed twords the back it hurt a lot more.

so could i have gingervitus or did i tear some or or what?

i went to the dentist about 2 weeks ago.

I broke one of my teeth eating a Friendly ice cream cake about a month ago it didn't bother me much. then I ate a Dorito couple of days ago and the filling fell out and started to hurt alot. I looked in the mirror and the tooth that was supposably filled was decayed. How can it be Decayed when it was drilled and filled.I don't think that Dentist doesn't know what the Hell he's doing. Should I get it filled again by another Dentist it's down to the gum and it bleeds cause part of the tooth thats broken is sharp. Or should I get it pulled and get it overwith?.

My expected lenght of treament is 18 months but am I doomed to wear power chains for the duration of my treatment? BTW-- the power chains are killing me!!!!! :0(

Ok here it goes, my teeth are terrible, almost all of them have rotted away, I can not smile because of the shear humiliation that it brings me. If you saw my teeth you would swear I have been doing meth or something, but that is not the case. I do have a job and I do have dental insurence, but they only cover a Grand of dental work a year,...that simply will not do it for me, I need help in finding somewhere in my area that can help me get my life back.
As of now, I am an alcholic pot head that uses these controlled substances to escape the reality of this werecthed existance, brought upon by the screwed up genetics I was given.
By the time I was 4 I had 4 silver front teeth...dna has played a cruel trick on me, I think I'm a handsome guy, but when my mouth opens, nothing but unequiviable rank comes out. Someone please help me before I end it.

I may be getting a gold crown glued on my back molar this Friday. If I change my mind later on that I want it replaced with a porcelain crown will they be able to remove the gold crown once it's glued on without damaging my molar? Or is the glue so strong that a crown can never be removed once it is glued on?

I am supposed to get a gold crown placed on my back molar this Friday and I am having second thoughts about having gold in my mouth. I prefer porcelain. The lab already made my custom made gold crown. The dentist secretary told me that once the lab makes the gold crown I have to pay for it ($1000) even if I don't want it anymore. I don't understand why they can't do an exchange for a porcelain crown? Can someone explain this to me? They said if I want a porcelain crown I will have to pay an additional $1000 for changing my mind. I didn't realize you can't do exchanges if you change your mind. Is there any way out of this situation? Am I going to have to pay for a gold crown that I don't want anymore?

and what are the side effects

The corner of my second molar in the far back of my mouth chipped off. The specialist (prosthodontist) recommended a gold crown. He said he didn't think there was enough room for my bite to allow a porcelain crown since my molars are very short and the molar above it supererupted from my first unsuccessful porcelain crown being off for 3 years after it kept falling off. Is he correct that sometimes there is not enough height on molar teeth to support a porcelain crown or that there isn't enough room in the bite for a porcelain crown? He also said that I barely have any tooth structure remaining and he would have to remove even more tooth structure to fit on a porcelain crown. I don't like the idea of having gold in my mouth when the rest of my teeth are white. Is gold my only option if there's not enough room on my molar for a porcelain crown? Would trying to place a porcelain crown in my situation be too risky?

Braces make it so that chewing hurts, what can I eat?

I’m in my early thirties and was diagnosed by two dentists (even though I trust my dentist, I always seek a second opinion) with amelogenesis imperfecta, night time bruxism and decreased vertical dimension.
Since I have a very demanding job and cannot see my dentist for more than half an hour every week at most, my treatment has been going on for years.
I brush my teeth after every single meal, I floss and have my teeth professionally cleaned every year, so hygiene is not an issue for me.
I’ve had root canal treatment done to more than half of my teeth, sometimes because I crack them on my sleep (my dentist makes me use a mouth guard now), sometimes because my pulp starts to expose due to my amelogenesis or bruxism, sometimes because my teeth get abscessed.
My dentist says I don’t need to get root canal treatment in all of my teeth, even though he is going to increase my bite by 1 mm on my lower teeth and 1 mm on my upper ones.
* Is this fine or do I need root canal treatment in all of my teeth before I get the crowns to elevate my bite?
My treatment will consist of a few more root canals on three very sensitive teeth, posts in all of the teeth that have had root canal treatment, porcelain crowns (reinforced with metal) in every single tooth (which will increase my bite) and finally a mouth guard to use at night.
* Does the treatment sound fine?
Since it will cost a lot, I just want to do it once and get it done as good as it can be done.
* Will the new crowns break because of my bruxism and lack of vertical dimension?
* Is 2 mm total of elevation on my bite a lot?
* Is this the best treatment?
My dentist wants to prepare my whole mouth in two sessions. First session upper and lower back teeth and second session the front ones.
* Is this how it’s done, and am I going to be able to eat and talk well?
My dad has teeth as weak as mine and now has a denture, and I don’t want that to happen to me.
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer all of my questions.

I have been doing invisalign for about 6 months, and I am probably going to quit because I hate it so much. It hurts, is uncomfortable, makes me talk funny...
My teeth aren't that bad, just some minor spaces on bottom. I should have been happy that my teeth are white, and look good in pictures. My family and friends say my teeth are fine, and thought I was crazy for getting invisalign. I guess I just wanted those perfect teeth, but can't stand the pain anymore!

Hi. A little over a year ago I had my top two wisdom teeth out. It was a terrible experience as both of the teeth cracked and half of one receeded into my gumline while the dentist had to have his assistant hold down my head while he knelt on the bed and used both his hands to pull out the other tooth!! I always had a small gap between my front teeth but now they are spreading even furthur apart and what was never a problem has become a problem. I visited the same dentist as the spreading started right after the wisdom teeth extraction and he claimed the two events were not related. My front teeth ache constantly now since they are moving more and more everyday - they are starting to look bad and I can get my tongue in between them!! So my question is two fold: 1) was the dentist just covering his *** when he said the extraction has nothing to do with my teeth spreading now after being in the same place for 23 years? and 2) Should I go to an orthodontist
