over the past week the top right side of my jaw has become tender when bruching. very very tender. so tonight i looked at it and it seems dark red. i also found my old softer brush and it still hurt to brush but not quite as bad. i then tried to see if it hurt differantly in a certin direction. when i brushed to the front of my mouth there was little to no pain, but when i brushed twords the back it hurt a lot more.

so could i have gingervitus or did i tear some or or what?

i went to the dentist about 2 weeks ago.

It's possible that you have an infection in that area. Have you recently eaten popcorn? Sometimes a hull can slide under the gums and sit there until it starts a problem.

If it is still sore after 3 days you should go back to the dentist & ask him to take a look!

Keep thoI have tender gums too, I over brush sometimes and actually destroy my gums! Don't press and try using toothpaste for sensitive teeth or organic toothpaste and a very soft brush. I would make another appointment with the dentist to make sure nothing is wrong. Maybe something got stuck into the gum or an infection started. Better find out now so it don't suddenly act up, and it seems like it is always on a weekend when you can't see a dentist, and end up causing you pain and keeping you up all night and pain all day. Use an inflammatory in the meanwhile, like ibroprofin to controll discomfort. Keep those teeth beautiful!!!
