It sounds like a wisdom tooth. Nothing to worry about unless it is painful and bothering her.

Well not sure about the time frame, growing it now BUT as with wisdom teeth, when they come in it's painful. I have proof, not that you need it that instead of just two top two bottom, I had two top, four bottom. So if they started coming in it could be really late. Wisdom teeth tend to stay underneeth the gumline forever, so they have probably been there the entire time, just now in here 30's they want to show their nasty side.
At least the drugs after the surgery are great : )

Probably her wisdom tooth. I am 26 and just had one come in. I had to hurry and have it pulled though. Those things will make the rest of your teeth all crooked and cause lots of pain. She needs to go to a dentist and they can do x-rays to see if she needs a tooth pulled.

Should be just a Wisdom Tooth, I got mine mid twenties but had to have them removed. Tell her to go to the dentist so they can xray to check there is enough room for it to come through without any problems.

Yes it is normal to have Wisdom teeth grow at that age. Though it is expected to that these teeth should grow at the age between 18-21.

My bottom wisdom teeth started to come through when I was about 26 but I had to have them removed because there wasn't room.

The x-ray showed I had one of my top ones sitting there waiting to appear, but no sign of the other one.

So far they haven't began the painful process - I'm 34. Hopefully they will lie dormant forever!

Sympathy for your girlfriend, but tell her to go to the Dentist so he/she can check its growth before it starts to dislodge other teeth!

it is probably her wisdom tooth, so long as it is growing in straight and she can get to it with her toothbrush and floss there should be no real reason for the tooth to be removed
