OK, coffee is turning my teeth brown. I'm 54. When I was younger it didn't do this. I quit smoking 4 years ago, before today, now, lol, I stopped the coffee and been useing Plus White toothpaste, says, coffee, tea, smokeing and berry stains. They look the same except shiney. Except for profesional bleaching, what can I do?

Well, my mom is a coffee-a-holic and her teeth are white from years of smoking, too. She recently opened her box or crest white strips and was amazed that after 3 days use she noticed a difference. I hope this helps. also, you should brush after every meal. Plaq settles very fast.

Try the arm & hammer brand of whitening toothpastes called brilliant white. It really worked for me. Also rinse twice a day with peroxide, which removes deep stains.

SANDI,
YOU CAN CERTAINLY TRY THE OTC PRODUCTS AVAILABLE FOR WHITENING TEETH. YOU WILL GET VARIED RESULTS. THE REASON FOR THIS IS THAT DIFFERENT SYSTEMS WORK ON DIFFERENT KINDS OF STAINS.
THE HEAVY STAINS ARE THE ONES WHICH HAVE PENETRATED DEEP INTO THE ENAMEL FOR WHICH THE COMMONLY USED OTC PRODUCTS WON'T BE EFFECTIVE.
SWISHING WITH PEROXIDE WILL HELP TO GRADUALLY GIVE YOU A BRIGHTER SMILE, BUT THIS METHOD IS SLOW.
THE PROFESSIONAL TRAY SYSTEMS FROM THE DENTIST OR THE IN OFFICE SYSTEMS IN WHICH A LIGHT/CHEMICALS ARE USED ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE.
THE REASON THE LATER SYSTEMS WORK IS BECAUSE THE DEEPER LAYERS OF THE ENAMEL ARE BLEACHED.
GOOD LUCK ON GETTING A BRIGHTER SMILE. :-)
