I had mine taken off almost a year early (I was told it would be two years) because I did everything I was suppose to and always wore my rubber bands. And my teeth moved really fast because I had a lot of space between them. For some people, even if they do everything, it could still take a long time. As for tightening, I don't really remember, maybe every 2 or 3 months. They only hurt for a couple days though, it wasn't too bad and totally worth it. My teeth were great, but i didn't wear my retianers, so I'm going to get braces agian. If you get them, wear your retainers or you'll regret it.

The orthodontist said i would need braces for 24 months but i ended up having them for 20 months instead. They were tightened once a month pretty much, sometimes significantly, sometimes just a little adjustment. But it all really depends on how fast your teeth move. If your teeth cooperate with his work then you might not need braces for as long as he says you do.

When I first got my braces on, the orthodontist told me it would be about two years before I got them off. I never really had them tightened, maybe once, but they did put chains on my top teeth to pull them together. I ended up getting mine off four months early because I wore the rubber bands that they told me to wear.

Braces - W#OW - they can make you wish you didn't have to smile --- but now a days they are so popular - kids are beginning to show them off .... Times change !!!! They need to be adjusted about once a month . they now have different color bands to give you a new style every month ..... But after about 6 months to a year you will be invited to have them removed . This is the time when people you have known will really praise you for the beautiful smile you have been concealing for so long ....

I new this guy who had them for over 1 year and he took them off before he was suppose to, I think he was meant to leave it in for 2 years and anyway his teeth eventually whent back to what they were, which was a waste of money and not to mention the pain, he was an idiot for not doing as the orthodontist told him to, he never went back to get them put in again. I suggest you leave it in as long as your orthodontist advises and don't take advice from other kids here who tell you "Oh it's ok to take them off before you are suppose to". Good luck and remember you want a pretty smile so leave them in there.

in some cases it happens for those person who cant wait with the time frame of the treatment, approximity of the treatment usually relies to your orthodontist coz since their specialist when it comes to that they know exactly what to do, then when it comes to tightening your wire it also depends on them. usually for those persons that cant wait and they had it remove early, mostly what happens is what they called ortho relapse which what happen is it can go back to its original place.

yeah i got mine taken off early i was given a 2 or 3 time frame i think. after you get them off you are fitted for a retainer. i cant see any problems with taking them off early other than the teeth wont be "perfect". just remmemebr to wear the retainer or your teeth go back. also i got them changed every month. and its going to hurt.

there's a clarification why you have them on and taking them off without something to hold them in place will cause them to shift back. they're additionally bonded on your the teeth with composite and it would desire to do various harm on your the teeth if no longer taken off via a proffessional.
