Try eating rice, tofu, bread, pudding, yogurt, jello, soup, even pasta was okay for me to eat. Your spacers will stop hurting until after about a week which you will get your braces in. Eat the same soft foods for about another week after your braces and you will be fine. I just got mine a month ago. Good luck

i had spacers and i ate soft foods the first day. because it hurts the first time they put it in. but the rest of the time just eat regularly. for braces i say nothing chewy or hard. foods get stuck on braces so while ur eating just like if u happen to find food on it wipe it off with ur tongue or floss. braces the first couple days soft, but the rest ur fine too.

Its been years since I had baces, but I just remember that your weren't supposed to eat anything sticky. Also I couldn't bite into an apple, I had to cut it into pieces before I could eat it. There's a little bit of adjusting, but you get used to it... now even 10 years later, I still cut up an apple. BTW, most orthodontists will give you a list of what not to do. And I'd suggest taking Advil or Ibuprofen before your visit, it helps with the pain.

for me, getting spacers was the most painful part of braces. It felt like something was stuck in your teeth and it hurt if you chewed. Get anything soft. you learn to chew with your other teeth, but if it excessively chewy, it is not possible to eat. soft bread is okay, cheese, things like that. It can be something you have to chew, but not something you have to chew hard

Really soft or liquidy foods like mashed potatoes, soup, and spaghetti. This website has a whole list of foods appropriate for when your teeth ache.

Good luck, I'm getting them in a few weeks.
