i need to get a total of 4 crowns. My dentist printed out a treatment plan for me in great detail for every tooth and what that tooth needs. On 1 tooth for example it was Crown-porc fuse high noble (p), Seat crown, Prefab post & core in add to crm. What does that mean? I dont understand what a cronw - porc fuse high noble means? What are different types of crowns? Why cant i get a stainless steel crown? My sister is almost 20 and has a stainless steel crown.

I say "humanely" because she is 17 months old and absolutely refuses to cooperate. Her father and I have tried gentle teamwork to no avail. I"ve even tried holding her upside down (she likes upside down.. it makes her open her mouth!) i'm at my wits end. her two top front teeth are begining to get small cavities and i'm definitely concerned. Due to her age the dentist can not sedate her or give her nitrous, so it would be even more traumatic for her (and us!). Any suggestions?

Right now i'm working at a dental office training to be a dental assistant but I heard the hygienist's make more money? I also heard from one of the girls that work there that it takes 2 years to become a hygienist..is this true? I also heard that it takes 4 years? If it takes 4 years is there ANY WAY possible to be done in 2 years? Even if I was well networked & hooked up?

I had to have a tooth taken out a couple of months ago. The root had broken and the dentist informed me that he had to leave a little bit if root in or he would have to cut all my gum to get it out. The root had had root treatment so is dead. The only thing is i can now feel a little pointy sharp bit at the side of my gum. Is that the root and should i go back? or will it be ok

I am wearing braces and I used to wear my rubber bands in a box shape in the back. Today the ortho changed the rubber band and the way I wear them. I had my bite turbo taken off and am now wearing my rubberbands from the hook on the bottom to the first hook on the top. Like in a diagonal. I feel like I don't know where my teeth should set. Anyone else done this before? Should I just let my teeth fall wear they feel comfortable or wear I think they should go?

He had two of his baby teeth pulled using a sedative, which didn't put him asleep. There were no problems, but the dentist told me to have him take it easy because his balance would be off. Now he is begging me to go to wrestling practice tonight. Is it ok for him to still go or not? It seems as if everything has worn off, and he has no pain at all.

Woke up this morning and brushed my teeth and experience TERRIBLE nerve pain in one of my lower teeth. Happens every time I drink or eat something. Just went to the dentist, no decay, no missing filling, he sealed it but it started again. HELP!

PS: It doesn't hurt just sitting here, only when i eat drink, or air is blown on it

Just a quick general knowledge question. Someone at work here is questioning our dental plan becuase she needs a root canal. I personally rarely use the health or dental coverage. I was under the impression that most dental plans paid a percentage of the cost of dental work up to a predetermined out of pocket amount for the insured. For example, the insured may have to pay 60% of the cost of dental work during the year up to a total out of pocket expense of $2,500, after that , all is covered. Someone else at work is saying it is the opposite. The insurance co. will pay their percentage up to a predetermined amount and then it's all on the insured. How are most policies structured?
