A cavity is found on your teeth, not on your gums. You can look for visible cavities when you open your mouth and see black spots. To truly know if you have cavities or not, you need to see a dentist. They will do a check up and look thru the cracks you cant see yourself and to figure out if you have any cavities. If its small you wont feel any sensitivity in your teeth.

First of all... go to the dentist! You need to have an ex-ray. Cavities will be sensitive to sweets and sometimes cold. If you look in the mirror, you might be able to see a small black spot, but you might not if the cavity is between the teeth. Or... you might have a cracked tooth. A cracked tooth might be painful when you bite down on something and are very often sensitive to hot and cold (like when you drink some coffee and and then take a bite of ice cream). But the only way to be sure is to go see a dentist!

I had a cavity. It was just a small hole im my tooth that hurt when I ate on it. Best to go to the dentist though as I left it a long while and they had to make a large hole in my tooth to make sure the hole was clean before they filled it.

It hurts when you eat something. You will know if you have a cavity because it will hurt when you eat.

No. The only way to tell is by going to the dentist and having a xray.
