Mario,
I'm so sorry your tooth is bothering you. Something is obviously wrong. Call for an appointment today. Take 2 ibuprofen with 2 Tylenol for pain. Do NOT exceed the recommended over-the counter dosage.
Why do you have antibiotic? Did you have some on hand after a previous illness? Not every antibiotic is good for every infection. Some work better for different conditions. BE SURE to take all the antibiotic your doctor prescribes. If you quit when you feel better, all the germs may not be gone and the remaining ones may mutate into antibiotic resistant bacteria. If you are taking leftover meds, it probably won't be enough to kill the infection, and it will mess up any culture tests that may need to be run.
I'll quite lecturing, but don't have leftover antibiotics, and don't take someone else's.
Good luck!

Not being sure exactly what it is about the tooth makes it hard. Cloves (the spice used in pumpkin pie, etc) is sometimes a big help. If you have the whole cloves put a few in a small damp rag and put it in your mouth as close to the tooth as you can. (spit rather than swallow, because your stomach might get unhappy otherwise). If you have oil of cloves or oil of Cinnamon they help, but the are so strong it is really tricky to use them. Full strength they can seriously damage the sensitive skin in the mouth. The powder can be used as I recommended for whole cloves, but it is difficult to handle. Needless to say, if you have Anbesol, that is what it is for, use it. If it is an exposed root to the tooth--hurting at the gum line, a friend of mine got temporary relief by putting a small piece of tobacco from a cigarette right on the root.

okay, first if you have any on hand, just swish some lukewarm lipton green tea around and the pain should dissipate a little. my friend does this all the time since he gets cavities from eating so much candy 24/7. he's a sugar fiend.
second, i know this sounds crazy- but if you have any garlic, go get it! now take a clove and smash it up a bit, just enough to get the oil to come out but not too much. now take that clove and tape it to your wrist above the veins, on the opposite side of the toothache. i mean, if the affected tooth is on the left side of your mouth, tape the clove to your right wrist. oh but dont leave it on overnight cos it can burn your skin. the smell is the only drawback.
i've never personally done this but i've heard from everybody who tries it that it works.
good luck sweetie, i hope you feel better. <3

Ahh toothaches are the worst...I had one once that was so bad I cried and cried and cried. Anyway, back to your toothache....
First, take some Ibuprofen. The bottle says to take one at a time every 6 hrs. But take at least 4 as you need for pain. Advil or Tylenol don't work as well. Also rinse well with warm water and salt, this helps to fight off any infection that is causing the pain. If you can't afford to have the dental work you need, you can always go to a clinic and have some good pain killers prescribed.
Good luck....hope it gets better!

Eeek! See your dentist! Untreated dental infections can threaten your health! Over the counter treatments can give some relief, but not for anything serious. Although you shouldn't self-prescribe anti-biotics, the fact that you have been on them for a bit and there is no response means you need to get to the dentist.

Clove oil. Clove will deaden, until the antibiotic takes over. My son couldn't find clove oil at the time, so he was using clove tea bags, laying them wet on his tooth and "sucking" on them. He said it worked also until he could get to the dentist.

So you have been to the dentist if you are taking an antibiotic....right?
Call the dentist and tell him/her how bad the pain is. They may call something in or have you come in the office first thing tomorrow morning.

You might have a dead tooth your best bet is to have a dentist remove or have a root canal done. take Tylenol until then.
