My son needs to have all four of his wisdom teeth removed. He is 16. Our question is, assuming there are no complications, how long will it be before he can play his trumpet?

I'm looking for good or bad experiences from anyone that has had braces put on the inside part of their teeth. I'm interested in getting my braces put in this way, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. Any advice would help.

This Saturday, I'm going to have oral surgery and have 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. I know that I won't be able to eat many things, seeing as my face will be swollen and my mouth will be in a lot of pain. What are some suggestions of food that I should start stocking up on so that I have it? Please only answer seriously...I really need the help! Also, if you have any similar experience, I'd LOVE to hear how it went for you, because I'm VERY nervous and scared to have it done!!!!

Thanks in advance guys!

The Periodontal disease has been really getting me down and the dentist has not been very helpful. Does anyone know of over the counter treatments or will i need surgery? My gums have receeded quite a lot and i need something more effective than mouthwash.

This is kind of an odd question, but I had a cavity in a tooth when I was in my low teens and it was filled. The dentist said I'll need to have my wisdom teeth pulled and a cap or root canal on the one that had the filling in the next couple years. Is it possible to pull the cavity tooth and allow the wisdom teeth to fill in there? Is there someone out there that knows? I know that you don't have to pull the wisdom's if you have room in your mouth, but can they be moved in to fill in for the teeth next to them?

I went to the dentist yesterday for the first time in 8 Years. "gasp!" For financial reasons and stupidity, I didn't see a dentist for a while. However, I brush my teeth 2 or 3 times a day, floss on a regular basis, and use Listerine every time I brush.. I show no signs of periodontal disease, bleeding gums, loose teeth, bad breath. so on. This dentist took x-rays, came back into the room 15 minutes later, looked at my mouth for 5 minutes and said I have 9 cavaties, and need a deep cleaning . Total cost of$1450.00! With the Dental savings plan. Is this normal practice today? I don't doubt that I have some cavaties. I just question the quick manner in which she looked at my teeth. It seemed more like an assembly line. And I question if I need the Deep Cleaning, which I have researched and it seems that if you have gum disease then you need more than a reguler cleaning. Not to mention that I don't have $1400. to dish out for my teeth. Any opionions welcome. Thanks.

I posted a question earlier, but I haven't noticed my gums start to bleed easily or hurt and be sensitive until I started using whitening strips and toothpastes etc. to try and whiten my teeth, now my gums bleed really easy when I brush and hurt pretty bad.. could this be because of the whitening stuff? or just because i have been wearing a retainer that has my teeth shifting to stay in place and then I go brush and the gums haven't had time to settle in..? any ideas on this?

I am getting my wisdom teeth out in a couple of weeks. The doctor is using "local anesthesia with heavy sedation". Has anyone had it done like this? Do you feel any pain during the procedure? Do you remember it at all? What was your experience? Should I insist on general anesthesia? What's the deal with that nerve that runs through your lower jaw? I'm pretty nervous about this, so your help is much appreciated! :)

I have pain in my lower right jaw. It hurts to open my mouth. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate the pain as 2. I'm not too concerned about it, but I was just curious as to what might have caused it.

I once hit the top of my head on a cabinet, causing the same pain that I'm feeling now, but this time, I didn't hit my head or anything. Also, my wisdom tooth was removed from the area that hurts but it was done over a year ago, so I don't think that that has anything to do with the pain. Also, I'm 19 so I highly doubt that it's a warning sign of a heart attack.

I have to get mine out next month as I have impacted wisdom teeth. I've been on the waiting list for a while and since then 3 of them have grown out a little but 1 is still wedged in there. My teeth are crowded as it is, so I'm gonna go ahead with it, but I've opted to go for the local rather than the general. I have two little girls so can't afford to be groggy for the rest of the day. I want to know what's it like having them all taken out at once while being wide awake? I know it'll be numb, but what's the experience like, with them bending over you with the tools, pulling and tugging....

I am on antidepressants and anti anxiety pills. Just went to my dentist and he says I have fungus inside of my cheek area and underneath my lower lip. Could meds cause this? He never really gave me answer, just said don't use Listerine for two weeks.
