ive had a mouth ulcer since february last yr (went to the dentist, mouth was numbed and i accidently bit it, creating an ulcer). i went to the dr at the end of november and he gave me some cold sore cream to put on it coz he said it was bacterial. he reduced a lil, and seemed to work rly well for the first week or so, then it stopped working. what should i do? what could this be?

to look at it, theres no discolouration etc, just a little lump.

My 9-moth-old has her left eye tooth half-way in and there is a white spot on her gum behind the tooth. It does NOT appear to be another tooth coming in behind the first tooth. What could this be? The spot is definately white, with maybe a hint of a yellowish tinge. I don't know how long it has been there (she won't let me look in her mouth), but I know I have seen it for the past 2 weeks and the size has not changed.

She has been unusually fussy lately, and Oragel seems to work, but it could be the "spot" or the fact that she has 4 new teeth coming in.

Any info you gould give or a place to search would be great. I want an idea before I try to brave the ice storm to take her to the dentist - it may be a week or more before the imediate 50-mile area has power. If this is serious, I want to take her right away, if necessary.

I am afraid to go to the dentist, but I know I need to to take care of myself....but I am very fearful. My teeth are not in good shap and I would like crowns/veneers...etc because of the extent of damage to my teeth. Any dentists out there who can give me some pointers on how to calm my anxieties so I can get a dental check up? It has been several years...and I know I need to go. I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but any HELPFUL advice would be greatly appreciated. Need/want more details please ask and I will post an update...Thank You!

I've had several teeth removed over the years and now I'm putting too much wear on the teeth that are left. They have become loose and very sore, if I bite down the wrong way I go thru the roof in pain. My new dentist says I have the option of root canal and crowns and bridges or extraction with implants. Money was not discussed as she wants me to see a endodontist first. I have insurance but I don't know what it will cover, my visit the other day cost me $85.00 and she did nothing but look and take xrays. That was my copay! Half of the actual cost. I'm in pain and scared, I don't know what to do. We are talking 3 teeth. I'm on a very limited budget. Any suggestions? I would really appreciate any ideas. Thanks

After I took my braces off about a year ago, I was told to wear my retainers 24/7. However, I got frustrated with the slurring and decided to only wear it at night. Well after a year, my orthodontist told me I MUST wear it 24/7 and now I've noticed significant movement (on top row). She also tighted my retainers and told me to wear it for another 6 mos until I see her again. Will wearing my retainers (top row) actually move my teeth back into place? Or will I have to get braces again? Any other alternative?

I have fillings in just about every tooth surrounding the area of pain...I went to the dentist, had xrays....then he tells me he doesn't see anything that would be causing pain....then suggests I see another dentist for diagnostic purposes....I am very irritated, and my tooth hurts!
My question is...can a filling leak or break off and the dentist not know it....and is it possible to see a dentist to have the tooth pulled without doing anything else?

I got my wisdom teeth out Tues. morning (so 5 days ago). All four were taken and the bottom right was impacted/near the nerve. 12 hours after the surgery, my lower lip, chin, and front right part of my jaw went numb. I think it has been receding a bit the last couple of days, but the dentist said it could last up to a month. I can move everything, just can't really feel like when i try to put chapstick on. How long until yall could eat normal food (such as food that requires chewing, not necessarily dangerous food like chips or real spicy stuff). I am still only able to eat soups, pudding, etc. and i'm really wanting to eat pasta and chicken etc. I ate a couple of bites of chicken from my soup last night but i had to be really careful and was just a lot of work. How long was it before yall could actually chew fairly easily?
