Details: I had an impacted wisdom tooth and it was so agonizing that I didn't sleep for three days straight. Of course this started on a Friday night and I couldn't get the tooth extracted til the following week. I was able to see my dentist for a quick visit on saturday and he could see the problem. I asked if he could give me some pills to get me through the weekend and he asked if I was ever addicted to narcotics. No I am not. He looks at me for awhile...as if I'm lying or something. He gives me a few days worth of Tylenol with codiene which is just barely able to cover the pain but better than the handfuls of Tylenol I'd been going through. I just don't get why a dental patient gets the run around.

O.K. about a day a go i brushed my teeth 2 times in a row just because i missed a couple of spots(i used a sonicare electric tooth brush both times w/ tooth paste) and flossed, then i used a flouride mouth wash (ACT). now my teeth are really sensitive to things like pressure when i chew and bite down hard and then really sensitive to cold. my toung also feels like it's burned (dulled taste, hurts a little bit) but i haven't eaten anything that could do that in a day. I also have a coulple of cavaties that need to be filled and wonder if i should be worried about thoes. I'm going to get them filled in about 10 days. Please tell me what it might be and if i should be really worried, i have an extream fear of losing a tooth that im not susposed to.

When, from what I can see, everyone else smiles, or talks, or makes any slight movement with their mouth, the upper lip rises above the front teeth, in a full smile the lip rises above the teeth and exposes the gum. When talking normally, my top row of teeth never show, the lip never rises high enough to show even a little bit. When I laugh or smile, most people would expose their gum, I'll show a few mm of my teeth, and about a quater of an inch of the teeth is still covered with the upper lip.

It's been like this for as long as I can remember, and it pisses me off. It's a flaw that seems unique to me, it wouldn't be so bad if it was something like a wonky nose, or a huge chin. That's something a lot of people have. Yet I've not come across anyone who can't fully expose their top teeth yet. And it's not a problem my parents or my sister have ethier, just me.

Any idea what it is, is it a condition?

I really need orthodontic braces. I have a severe overbite (buckteeth), a large deepbite (my bottom teeth are nearly biting into the roof of my mouth), a midline discrepancy (my bottom jaw is too far to the left), and the teeth are starting to rotate and turn others crookedly. My teeth look okay right now, but they won't in a very short time! As it is right now, I have trouble biting into things and I have a slight lisp when i say my "s's." My ortho wanted to start when i was 14 (last year) but my parent's wouldn't. I really want and need them, but they'll cost. BUT i know that we're getting a BIG income tax return (about 6000) and i really want &need braces so bad. How can i convince them?

oh and P.S.~~ if some of you saw my Q: **what colors should i get for my braces?** i wasn't trying to LIE i was planning ahead and failed to mention that. thanks guys.

THANK YOU SOO MUCH, EVERYONE. GOD BLESS, AND I HOPE YOU'LL GET THE BEST ANSWER!

3 weeks after an apicoetomy on a large front tooth, I still have swelling from the 15 stitches and bone graft. I am on my second round of antibiotics and I am worried I will lose the tooth. It just feels weird. Dr. says everything is normal. I spent $1,300 dollars on this previously root canalled tooth. What do you think? Will I loose it or is it still too early?
It is getting a little better, but I am worried.

Ive got a toothache from hell. It can start raging without any notice, one second its not there and the next, it is. It can then totally dissapear with no obvious reason, then re-appear. The pain is very intence, feels like my teeth have been wired into the electrics.
Does anyone know how to stop the pain right now. All the dentists are closed. Already done the clove oil, whisky, vodka, etc. URGENT...

Does it help because you ingest the flouride or is it that the flouride comes into direct contact with teeth when you drink the water? I am asking because about a year ago I switched from tap water to almost exclusively bottled spring water and my teeth have started to stain. I have a hunch that it is because bottled spring water is not flourinated (to my knowledge). I brush my teeth everyday and dont drink coffee and have never had this problem before. I have also heard that distilled water can leech minerals from your body if you drink it too much? It seems to me that spring water wouldn't do this since its not distilled and I would imagine has more minerals in it than tap water...

I saw an infomercial today about ionic white being 100% safe and effective.

Does this product really work - only 21 min for full effect, 2 min per day?

Is this product safe? If it uses peroxide doesn't it damage the enamel similar to the other tooth whitening products?

he said i should only get it removed if i'm starting to feel enough pain to warrant getting it removed, and it was close to a nerve, is this right?.. i figure you'd have to remove it reguardless anyways, so why would he wait it off rather than just wanting to schedule an apointment and getting it done now? it's clearly impacted, i suppose theres no way you can not need it removed at one point or another anyways.

I don't know if anyone else gets these but they are little spots/lumps on the inside of the cheek area usually towards the back of the mouth though sometimes they occur on the inside of the mouth just below the lip. Although it feels like a spot/lump when I look at it in a mirror, sometimes where it feels the lump is the skin is actually broken!! What are these? And what causes them to come about!! I don't think they are ulcers because they do not hurt!
