wisdom teeth usually come in around your early 20's. 1 tooth on all 4 quadrants of your mouth. Why we get wisdom teeth can't really be answered but could probably be linked to our ancestors. The older they got the more teeth they lost and the harder it was for them to eat meaty foods. Having a tooth come in at an older age allows for more possibilities for healthy teeth(or teeth at all) to be present. The wisdom teeth are made to chew and grind food so we can swallow. Nowadays we usually keep most of our molars and don't have the room for the wisdom teeth to come in....resulting in a pain in the butt to take them out surgically. Good luck with your wisdom teeth experience. had mine out...not a good feeling

it's a part of human life. but sometimes other people don't have wisdom teeth... wisdom teeth are teeth at the very last. we have 8 teeth in one arch and the 8th teeth is our wisdom teeth.

the wisdome teeth push the other teeth together, eliminating gaps between the teeth, thereby reducing potential decay from food getting trapped between the teeth

Wisdom teeth are just more molars. They are the 3rd molars, it's just that most ppl's mouths aren't big enough to hold them.
