I have virtually unusable degree, and lately I've been considering becoming a dentist. I don't have the classes required to get into dental school, so I'm taking a few basics. I am trying to decide whether or not to go for another whole B.S. or to get the basics out of the way and try to get into a dental hygiene program so I can work in the field a little. I have seen statistics showing that a degree in nursing actually hurts one's chances of getting into medical school, and I was wondering if things work the same way for dental school.

Because maybe you dont have to spend alot of money on Stride... and you can buy a cheaper gum and it will last just as long. So if you guys have any suggestions of gum i should try or comments please leave them. thanks :]

Hi, I noticed one day when I was licking my lips that on the gums closetest to my lip was a little rough with a spot on it. When I looked in the mirror there was a white spot to be more specific 3 little white spots its also not sore and there's no pain . I dont do chew tobacco. Could this be serious?

Ive had one tooth took out before and a few months ago I went to the hospital and my orthodontist told me I need braces but before I get braces I need 4 teeth took out. When I had one tooth took out the process was pretty simple. Will they do the same and just do it 4 times over or is there some sort of other treatment on getting larger numbers of teeth took out?

My throat has hurt for 2 weeks now, and i went to the doctor and he gave me medicine and it didn't work and i have tried salt water gargle, honey and lemon tea, drinking hot beverages practically everything and it still hurts... BUT the back of roof of my mouth is causing TERRIBLEEEEE PAIN it hurts soooooooooooooo bad for a few days can someone help me plllllleaseeeeeeeeee thanks soooo much!

Well I have a rotten wisdom that I was told needs a root canal. I have went for about with out contacting any type of dentist with that same tooth. Well I am having a pain that starts in the back left side of the neck and end and the corner of my left eye. I smoke also so that may not help. It also becomes worse when I enhale on a cigarette but the actual tooth causes me no pain even though it is rotten all the way down. I was thinking towards expose nerve and this has been going on for like 41/2 to 5 weeks now and I just want to know what are the dangers and is this a pain that can come from the tooth? There were no previous injuries to me that can cause this headache and neck pain so should I be attending the emergency room, or a dentist office? I long should I wait?

If a tooth dies and they need to go inside of the pulp to clean out the infection, how does the infection get into the surrounding tissues and jaw? Isnt the inside of your tooth sealed off from the jaw and gums?

When I was 6 I fell off my bike and chipped my front left tooth, and when I was in jr. high (about 13 yrs old) the dentist temporarily fixed it for me. He told me that it wasn't permanent, and that when I was 21 yrs old (adult) I would be able to get it fixed permanently. Now I am 20 yrs old, and I was looking into getting my teeth whitened. But I was wondering how I would go about doing this with my partial fake tooth. Can you tell me what this temporary fixture is, and what the permanent fixture would be. Also about how much the replacement would be. Thank You.

Since I fell over and bashed my two front teeth the other week, Ive had a sort of soft bllister come up on the fleshy tissue part behind them. Its making it hard for me to eat or speak (some would say what a blessing!), but no its really sore and irritating. Does anyone know what it can be and could a dentist or doctor give me something to get rid of it? Or any over the counter stuff which would help (Ive tried Bonjela but that doesnt help at all). I say is it an abscess because I can remember having one on a tooth when I was about 5 years old and all I can remember is running out of the dentits surgery screaming in pain, which doesnt exactly help with my phobia of dentists when I go next week.
