Excel-Chlorophyll flavour. The other ones don't last as long. And it works for denture wearers too. Take it from me cause I wear them!!

Our children's babysitter did this one for her project (8thgrade) this year. She used our computer to type everything up, so I remember there were tons of resources to be used. the major gum manufacturer is Wrigleys and had an awesome site full of info. One thing to keep in mind is that Wrigley manufatures most "brands" of gum- which meant that of the 8 kinds she bought to try 7 were actually made by Wrigleys and at the last minute more had to be purchased to accurately assess how long the flavor lasted. CHeck out the Weigleys website and jot down a l;ist of theirs and you should be fine.

Best Luck!!

IMO, I don't think there's too much "science" in it. What are you trying to prove? What's your control? I think you're going to have a tired jaw - if you have friends helping, they're all going to have to chew the same brands for the same length of time.....and perhaps to varied results because of differences in tastes.

You'd probably get a better grade by growing plants. I know that's probably pretty boring, and it's clear you'd like to do something different (which is good), but it appears you might also be looking for a project that's easy to get done.

I'd think a little longer about an idea.

I think you'll have to go a LONG way to make this a "science" project. Be sure to include some explanation about the chemistry that is used to make the gum last longer or it's not too scientific, in my opinion.
