anything without sugar would be good. Water would be the best thing for your health or even juice. My husband is a dentist and we don't even let soda in to our house. He has seen to many cases with people rotting there teeth away because they drink too much pop.

The only thing that won't cause tooth decay is water, and it's good for you too. It's the prolonged exposure to sugar products that attach to the teeth (especially when there is a sticky plaque at the gum line) that cause the fast decay. We refer to patients with decay at the gum line, as soda sippers. Those sugar products just attach and attack! It's impossible to keep your teeth free of the bacteria since it starts to form again within 30 min's after brushing. Then that bacteria turns into the sticky plaque. But you can attack back by rinsing really good with water, but the best solution is brushing well after drinking them, and try to cut back or limit how many and don't be a sipper! Hope I was of some help. Good luck.

Gatorade is just as bad.
Anything with sugar and acid is bad for your teeth. Diet soda is still bad for your teeth because it contains acid. Fruit juice contains acid to, in addition to naturally occuring sugar (fructose) even if it has no added sugar.
You don't have to avoid these drinks completely. Have them with your meals and brush your teeth immediately after. You only have problems if you drink soda (or anything else that contains sugar and/or acid) all day long.
Drink lots of water throughout the day and limit the frequency of drinking soda, juice and any other drink that contains acid/sugar.
Besides, drinking soda and other sweetened drinks cause you to gain weight because of the sugar. That's another good reason for limiting your intake.

Gatorade has lots of sugar in it, but you may be OK if you dilute it in some water. Water, milk, and tea sweetened with Splenda would not encourage tooth decay (although drinking a lot of tea may stain the teeth).

i asked my dentist the same thing! she said it depends on the sugar content. gatorade has just as much sugar as soda, you'd be better off drinking diet-soda (but i think its gross) so i still drink soda all the time but i try to brush my teeth 3 times a day. those new flavored waters are pretty good though.

water and milk are the best but if you are going to drink soda remember this for every sip you take the sugar is on your teeth for 10 min. so instead of small sips all day drink it fast and brush your teeth after good luck

Gatorade has too much sugar! I prefer bottled carbonated water with a hint of flavor, such as Poland Springs products.

I think soda is okay, as long as you brush your teeth after you drink it. Any kind of sugary drink will harm your teeth if it sits there for a long time.
