I don't know if anyone else gets these but they are little spots/lumps on the inside of the cheek area usually towards the back of the mouth though sometimes they occur on the inside of the mouth just below the lip. Although it feels like a spot/lump when I look at it in a mirror, sometimes where it feels the lump is the skin is actually broken!! What are these? And what causes them to come about!! I don't think they are ulcers because they do not hurt!

They are not any colour. They don't even looked inflamed!

If you grind your teeth or clench them when you're asleep, you can bite into the flesh in your mouth and this can cause a lump where the skin gets broken. You can order a night guard from the Dentist if it bothers you.

What color are they? If they are little yellow spots, about 1 mm in diameter, they are called "Fordyce's Granules" and they are just tiny little fat deposits. I chose this answer, because this is the most common thing we see on the inside of patients' cheeks.

Or, if they are dark color and occasionally "broken," perhaps you are biting your cheek and making the marks.

I've been told they're nothing to worry about.
