No pain as you get them on.

When they are putting them on - not much pain. If you are nervous I would suggest taking an asprin or 2 before you go.
About an hour afterwards you may start to feel a little pain. Also, since your mouth is not used to all that metal, you may start to get sores on the inside of your mouth - I'd get wax from your orthodontist just to be on the safe side.
Don't be silly like me and try to eat a big turkey sandwich - wasn't the best idea!

When I got them I was sore but really helped me was to take 2-3 tylenol prior to them putting them on and prior to all tightnings. Take it about 1 hour prior so it will kick in right when you get them on. I had to eat soft food for about a week. After the first 2 months I was sore after the adjustments but they were nothing like the first. It will fell like your gums are about to be ripped off so make sure you have a bottle of Tylenol ready for the week afterwards. It does get better after each adjustment and is well worth it in the long run. When the Ortho puts them on you will not feel athing except your mouth will get sore from being help open for so long Best of luck!

Braces are harmless so do not worry. You will feel the most pain the day AFTER you have them put on! The worst part for me was having those little silver jackets cemented on the teeth in the back of my mouth.

I didn't feel any pain while my braces were being placed. The pain comes after they come on. The pain could last from one day up to a week. I would take Motrin or other pain relievers to relieve my toothaches.

When they are put on may be a little face pain from having your mouth opened and stretched while he works on putting them on. After wards a little tightening pain. It wont last long and the rewards are great.

Very little, if any. Just remember, brush those teeth often, floss, etc. so you won't have problems. And don't eat any foods that will screw up what the braces are doing. You will have a beautiful smile soon!
