ive had a mouth ulcer since february last yr (went to the dentist, mouth was numbed and i accidently bit it, creating an ulcer). i went to the dr at the end of november and he gave me some cold sore cream to put on it coz he said it was bacterial. he reduced a lil, and seemed to work rly well for the first week or so, then it stopped working. what should i do? what could this be?

to look at it, theres no discolouration etc, just a little lump.

If this is an open sore or ulcer in your mouth and it's been there for nearly a year, see your dentist or a different one immediately. An open sore should have healed long ago. So this could be something more serious than an ulcer.

If this is just a lump, and your biting it aggravated it and it hasn't gone away, it may not on it's on. Some of those lumps or bumps in the fleshy cheek area have to be surgically removed. Not a big deal, numb it, snip it, and a stitch or two. Doesn't hurt a bit, had one done myself not long ago.

Either way, hope I was of some help. Good luck!

It could be just dead skin from biting it that needs to be removed. I would go to your regular family doctor and let them look @ it they may have a better solution!
