Ok so I have two impacted bottom wisdom teeth. One is perefectly horizontal (90 degrees) and the other is angled. The angled one has been in for about a year and it has just started giving me problems. After Im done eating, I experience a toothache/jawache/headache for 30-40 mins and then it goes away. Same for sleeping. I wake up to toothaches and they leave in half a hr. I also noticed that whenever I lay down, my jaw/tooth starts to hurt no matter how i position myself. When I sit up, it goes away. Why is this?

I went to the dentist last week for checkup with no pain or complaints and he ordered a root canal on my top left rearmost molar-- b/c he said it had a cavity that would eventually reach the root.
Is it normal practice to give a patient who felt perfectly fine a root canal? I asked him on the second visit and he claims that although the decay doesn't show on the x-ray it did when he drilled in (although he decided on the root canal before that).
Was this guy out to make money? I'm 25 and have had only one cavity until now-- he also ordered 4 cavities. I'll be pretty angry if this was unnecessary b/c I now realize that I'll have a problem tooth for the rest of my life.

I want an electric toothbrush cuz my old one is dead now, there is some at shopppers drug mart for like $20-30, but then there are other ones you can buy that cost like $80-100, Is there really a difference in why I should get the more expensive kind?

I did have to have stiches.... so is this normal? I have packed it with gauze and have changed it every hour. I was told by the dentist to try using a tea bag which I tried but with no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

My teacher at beauty school told me if you rinse your mouth with peroxide for about 5 minutes a day it will whiten your teeth. She said peroxide is the key ingridient in most teeth whitening kits, but is it safe to use pure peroxide even if you will be spitting it out? It is avery strong chemical.

A dentist did a root canal on the wrong tooth then offered to do the root canal for free, but wants me to pay for the tooth that should have been done. He admitted the wrong tooth was done. I feel both should be done for only what insurance pays, and some compensation should be given since the wrong tooth will need maintenance every ten years at a cost of over $1000 each time. Should I ask for compensation for the years of maintenance also?

I need to get my wisdom tooth pulled because it is growing into my other tooth. It is not full out yet it has barley reached the top. My question is will I get the general anesthesia? My mom says I won't get put to sleep at the dentist office because it costs too much money and that it is her decisision not mine. So is there a possibility that they would put me under general anesthesia? Do normal dentists administer that?

I went to the dentist about 2 weeks ago for a filling. THe dentist drilled the cavity out then the dental hygienist told the Dr. that she could do the filling. He left the room and then she said she thought she saw some more "staind" on my teeth. So she took the drill and started drilling more. I Have been in so much pain the past two weeks. A few days ago I went back and they said they would adjust my "bite" by drilling down some becasue evidently she drill down enough. I"m still in pain and yesterday they told me I would need a root canal.

I asked another dental hygienist at another dentist office and she said that they weren't allowed to drill she though. Or at least they aren't suppose to there. SHe said I could probably file a lawsuit against the dentist to cover time I missed from work and when I go to a different dentist next week (becasue I won't be going back to the other guy) to keep up with charges an things. PLease someone answer who is qualified to do so. THank you,
