My grandma just got new dentures and the office manager/techie, told my grandma to soak her dentures in Clorox and water. I have never heard of such a thing, is this really safe? won't the Clorox erode the gums of the dentures over time? how can you be so sure that the clorox is gone and safe enough to put back in your mouth, ewwww that would taste so gross. I'm looking for some answers please!

I know it is horrible to want people to work during the holidays, but I am in pain.

Why I can go to an Emergency Room for health reasons, take my cat to the vet ER for cat issues, but remain out of luck for dental reasons because they are closed from two days before Christmas until two days after Christmas? Surely dentists are just as important and needed, but they take 5 days off for a holiday? (They only perscribed 3 days worth of pain killers.)

** I had a wisdom tooth and a molar removed on Thursday, and I am still in extreme pain and my face is swollen. I have followed every bit of the dentists’ instructions including ice packs, elevating my head when I sleep, salt water, antibiotics etc., but the only way I would be able to get any help would be to call a dentist at home. It shouldn't have to be that way.

P.S. Anyone know where to find clove oil? The assistant said it would help with pain, but no drug store has it.

I just started experiencing pain in the back of my mouth from my wisdom teeth. Thankfully I'm getting them out in a few weeks. The pain isn't unbareable it's just a constant dull pain on the side of my face. I was wondering if smoking could aggrivate my mouth and make the pain worse. I know smoking is bad, that's not my question. My question is can smoking irritate my wisdom teeth pain that isn't from surgery, just from them growing in or whatever?

I was eating chips and my teeth felt a bit painful. So i went to rinse out my mouth. there is one teeth, and it feels like there might be a dent/hole of something on its side. After rinsing my mouth, it feels fine now. It isn't painful when i pick at the tooth hole. I used to get cavities as a child, but i haven't got cavities recently. Its not painful at all.

My dentist said I should do it 6-8 times a day for the teeth I had out because it helps them heal. What is it about salt and warm water that makes gums heal?

I suffereing from a physical ailment?????

2006-12-23 19:59:49 · 16 answers · asked by Kitty L 3

I've always had this habit that when I am studying or reading for school (or even during a class) I have a pencil or pen in my hand and I chew on the end of it (or chew on the cap of the pen). It wasnt a big issue before but seems to be getting worse because i think i keep biting harder. So much that my gums start to get sore and sometimes ruining the pen. I've tried not holding it and willing myself to try to forget about it, but that doesn't work for long. Sooner or later the pen ends up in my mouth without thinking at all. Chewing gum also doesn't work that well (plus teachers dont allow it in class).

I think im doing it because i have anxiety over tests and grades. But not much I can do really to lower that stress. It will always be there.

Anyone have any ideas?

i was just checking on my teeth to make sure there were no cavities but i think i found 2 on one tooth! i find that hard to beleive though because i brush my teeth twice a day everyday and i chew sugar free mint gum after almost every time i eat.

and i know they are cavities because theyre small black dots on my tooth.
