the most important things, are brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. your brushing technique plays a key role in good oral health. this website briefly describes how to brush your teeth well. it also says to use back and fourth strokes, which is wrong. use little circles, at an angle against the gums. remember to get all the surfaces of the teeth. this is where the technique comes into play. i would start in the back on the top, with the surface of the tooth that is next to your cheek. use little circular motions, and spend about 7 seconds on each tooth. once you get the outside surface of each tooth on top, move to the inside surface of each tooth on top, starting in the back. then, again use little circular motions on the chewing surface of the top teeth, with about 7 seconds on each tooth. then, after the top teeth are done, do the same with the bottom teeth. pay specail attention to the inside of the bottom teeth, where the tip of your tounge touches your teeth. saliva sits there all day long, and is a greenhouse for bacteria, and can cause build up on your teeth. once the bottom teeth are done, brush your tounge, using downward strokes from the back of your tounge. i would reccommend flossing before you brush, and after brusing and flossing, rinse with your favorite mouth wash. this may sound like alot, but once you get a good technique down, it wont take long. electric toothbruses are best. use a toothbrush with soft bristles, so it wont scratch your gums. brush three times a day, and especailly really well before you go to bed. and pay specail attention to the back teeth, they can be hard to reach, so just drop your jaw and relax your tounge. massaging your gums with your index finger can help keep your gums nice and healthy looking also. the best toothpaste to use (i believe) is colgate total plus whitening. take good care of your teeth, and they will last you your whole life, and you'll have a great smile!

Brush at least 2 times a day circular motion. If you are brushing the upper teeth tilt the head of the toothbrush 45 degrees upward, an upper tilt in other words. and if u are doing the lower teeth, tilt the tooth brush down 45 degrees. They recommend that you floss at least 1 time a day, but if u can floss every time you eat that would be ideal. Mouthwash is also an adjunct to brushing, to minimize the number of bacteria in the mouth ... hope this helps,

The correct way is to brush up and down but in a circular motion, starting at the root of the gum and moving downward. You should brush your teeth in four quarters. Top left , bottom left and so on. Afterward you need to floss , being sure to get close to the tooth root. Follow up with good old Listerine. If you use a generic brand that is ok , but that type of product helps to prevent gum disease. Lessons well learned AFTER I had to spend $ 4,000 on a bridge... lol

"Brush your teeth twice a day, with a soft-bristled brush. The size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth, allowing you to reach all areas easily. Use a toothpaste that contains fluoride, which helps protect your teeth from decay. When choosing any dental product, look for the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance, an important symbol of a dental product's safety and effectiveness."
